The Jose of old appears to have returned from past glory days as a smart and active floor general here in the TDot. Albeit we’re only a few games into the season, but do we count on him as one of this franchise’s key building blocks moving forward or if this success continues use him as valuable veteran trade bait come deadline time?

Jose has been around too long and is pushing thirty.  He’s not the future.  He’ll be there long enough until the raptors get a good trade for him or until they feel comfortable with Jerryd Bayless taking over.

he might fall off in 3 years …. but he might not. Mike Bibby really fell off at age 32, but he was never as good a passer as Calderon. The big question with Calderon, I think, is whether he will be able to still penetrate off pick and rolls and defend his position about as well as he does now when he is 32, 33. If he can, he can continue to be our point for a while.

Mentor role. resigns with a reduced contract would be ideal fornthe raptors and our point guard of the future… sorry not JB.
