The Master of Raptor Twitter Ennui joined me this week for the Rapcast. While we were both battling the flu to some degree, it turned out to be a fun half hour of Raptor chat, with a lot more, too:

  • Game-Ops and the loss of Skrillex
  • The end of Fringe on television
  • Ryerson Rams (#6 in CIS) and UBC Thunderbirds (#2 in CIS), and the “media” backing each side
  • The play of Lowry and Calderon, and whether one has to go
  • The play of Amir and Boss, individually and as Tag Team Championship contenders
  • A look ahead at this weekend’s games
  • Is Jonas Valanciunas in The Hangover 3?
  • *More!

I like these podcasts but you dudes need some real equipment. You can barely hear the other guy with his crappy mic. If the quality is going to be so poor you might as not do the podcast …

  • Pesterm1

I really disliked Eric Koreen before this but now I definitely hate Eric Koreen. His voice his nasally and annoying. lol an interview where you can only here the questions … clap.. clap.. cl………

  • Gman

My first thought was that Pesterm was being a little unfair.  The other podcasts have at least been listenable on some level.  This one not at all.

Yeah I love these podcasts but you guys really need to do something about the audio issues. I can barely hear, much less understand, what ekoreen was saying that I had to stop listening since I couldn’t understand anything anyways. Hopefully it gets sorted out because it’s been great listening to these. In the meantime, I’ll just have to wait til I get home, where I have better volume control, to try listening again

For what it’s worth, to me it sounds like most other over-the-phone interviews. So the audio quality and volume from Eric Koreen could be better, but overall it’s fairly intelligible.

Mind you, I’m listening to it on hi-fi headphones, but on most headphones it should be fine.

If this sounds like most over the phone interviews to you then you have been listening to a lot of crappy phone interviews.  I used to write for an online music magazine and we did online phone interviews all the time and they didn’t sound anything like this and the technology I was using was from the nineties.

I called his phone from my Skype and used Callgraph to record. Any suggestions for a better method?

I didnt think this one was that bad audio wise. Hes quieter for sure .. but there was one earlier that I couldnt make out at all.
Anyways .. appreciate you doin these – hopefully you can figure out he audio .. not my type of gig, so I have no idea how to make better

  • Brain Colangelo

    Can’t hear Koreen at all.

  • Paradigm Shift

I don’t want to seem like I am piling on, but I was really looking forward to listening to this podcast. I was willing to go through the usual “RapCast Jump” to turn down the volume every time the interviewer came back on, but this time I couldn’t hear a thing from the interviewee, Koreen. I gave up.
