I thought Jonas Valanciunas  had his 4th Foul in the 3rd quarter
I think he should have played _some_ time in the 4th Q but he would have fouled out & not been there at the end

  • Paul Stevens

“…he would have fouled out & not been there at the end.” This is what they commonly call speculation. It means nothing. If he had played through the fourth, the Raps might not have needed overtime.

Comparing the contributions Gray and Valanciunas made

      Jonas Valanciunas, C 17 MIN | 6-8 FG | 0-0 FT | 6 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 12 PTS | +4
      Aaron Gray, C 15 MIN | 0-1 FG | 0-0 FT | 6 REB | 3 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 0 PTS | -8

Gray was facing a more alive Lakers but Jonas could bring more speed and energy and, it’s clear, results

I stand corrected – Valanciunas vs Lakers – How does he not play 4Q/OT?

We waited a year for him to get here, and now we don’t get to see him because our substitution patterns suck.  He didn’t play the 4th Q or OT because our substitution patterns suck.  We lose our lead in almost every damn game because our substitution patterns suck.

Watching JV has been a bright spot of the season.  Only natural for DC to stick him on the bench.  Can’t give the fans wins, so why let them see players they like on the floor?

  • Jonas

    nice vid

im a huge Big V fan and im tired of watching him playing 18 min a game and only 4 of which are at the beginning of the 3rd quarter (when casey send out the starters to start the secound half) and none in the 4th.

Also, casey neads to stop making lineups to match the other team( taking jonas out because they don’t  have a center in the game), make the opposing team match ur lineup. I was listening to the pheonix broadcast the other game, and they were saying that if jonas was put in the game, hadadi might have to play big minutes because of the gortat injury. However casey viewed the gortat injury not as an advantage to jonas but a reason to take him out of the game.

Now that Raps are out of playoff race, there is absolutely no reason Big V and T. Ross shouldn’t be playing at least 30 minutes a night.

Since the OKC pick is top-3 protected, why not play our young guys and in the process maybe get a couple more lottery balls to help keep the pick this year.  If it doesn’t work you still are developing your young players and since OKC is in the West it doesn’t really matter how high the pick the Raps give them ends up.

Alas, this would be too logical and so naturally the Raptors will do the opposite…I hate myself for cheering for this team

Technically the Raptors are not out.  But There chances are slim.  I hate when people say “Now that the Raps are out” Anyway, I may be a delusional fan sometimes, but there not out.

Maybe it’s just me but JV looks a lot bigger in that video than I remember him looking. Can’t wait for him to add even more muscle over the coming years

As long as he doesn’t get all Sabonis on us
