Bulls dominate from start to finish. Read on to find out which Raptors player DIDN’T get an F.

Chicago Bulls 96 FinalRecap | Box Score 80 Toronto Raptors
Amir Johnson, PF 21 MIN | 1-3 FG | 1-2 FT | 4 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 3 BLK | 4 TO | 3 PTS | -19Almost useless. Didn’t bring his usual overdose of energy. Non-factor on the offensive end, allowed Boozer/Noah/Gibson to have their way on offense.
Rudy Gay, SF 32 MIN | 7-15 FG | 5-6 FT | 9 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 4 TO | 20 PTS | -14Don’t let the scoreline deceive you. He poured in some really meaningless baskets at the end of the game when it was well out of reach. Struggled to hold on to the ball, was lazy on defense, inflated his rebounding numbers by grabbing some uncontested boards.
Jonas Valanciunas, C 28 MIN | 2-5 FG | 0-0 FT | 8 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 2 TO | 4 PTS | -11Aside from a nice dunk during the third, Jonas had a horrible game. He was outmatched by the Bulls frontline and didn’t really assert himself on either end of the floor.
Kyle Lowry, PG 38 MIN | 3-15 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 8 AST | 3 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 6 PTS | -10Tried playing heroball, especially in the third, but it really didn’t work. Played solid defense, inflated his assist total by handing the ball to Demar. Not his greatest game, but considering how terrible his teammates were, he looked alright.
DeMar DeRozan, SG 37 MIN | 13-22 FG | 7-10 FT | 1 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 3 TO | 37 PTS | -12Went off for 28 points in the second half. The game was well out of hand when he started getting it going, but he at least gave fans something to cheer for. Too bad this torrid performance came in a blowout. Didn’t do much on defense. Every screen took Demar completely out of the picture. Matched his career high with 37 and could have topped it had Casey not subbed him out for no reason.
Tyler Hansbrough, PF 20 MIN | 1-4 FG | 4-4 FT | 5 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 6 PTS | -4I say this every time. Energy, grabbed boards, played semi-decent defense. He’s going to net the Raptors a 2nd rounder at the trade deadline. #FreeHansbrough.
Landry Fields, SF 6 MIN | 0-2 FG | 0-0 FT | 1 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 0 PTS | +4Benched for the entirety of the first half for some reason. Came in and played in the second half and alertly jumped passing lanes to grab two steals. No idea why Casey didn’t play him more. #FreeFields
Quincy Acy, SF 19 MIN | 2-6 FG | 0-0 FT | 6 REB | 2 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 0 TO | 4 PTS | -2See Hansbrough. #FreeAcy
Steve Novak, SF 5 MIN | 0-1 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 0 PTS | -4Played all of his minutes with an all-bench unit. No plays were ran for him so he was mostly useless.
Dwight Buycks, PG 18 MIN | 0-5 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 0 PTS | -1He might actually be worse than DJ Augustin. He picks up his dribble at the weirdest of times and his shot selection is very questionable, but I can’t really evaluate his performance in tonight’s game. I’m sure his head is heavy with the recent passing of his father.
Terrence Ross, SG 16 MIN | 0-4 FG | 0-0 FT | 4 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 0 PTS | -10First man off the bench, but he didn’t do very much. Played with an all-bench unit in the second quarter and failed to get anything going versus the Bulls defense.
Dwane Casey
Okay, I get that the starters were crapping the bed, and I even get that you want to try something out in an inevitable loss, but NEVER, EVER put in a lineup of Buycks-Ross-Novak-Hansbrough-Acy. NEVER. Also, why did you take Demar out with 1:30 left in the game? He could have beaten his career high of 37 points had you not subbed him out. Give the man some love – what do you have to lose? Can’t be good for morale (picture above shows how surly Demar was after being subbed out).

Five Things We Saw

  1. The Bulls defense was simply collapsing whenever the Raptors attacked the paint/post, and they were more than willing to concede long jumpers to the Raptors, so naturally the Raptors took all of the long jumpers in the first quarter. This shot chart isn’t pretty.
  2. Speaking of shot charts, this one is even worse. Actually, how is that even possible?
  3. (Captain) Kirk Hinrich played a great game tonight. Filled in admirably for Rose. Remember when the Raptors had a capable back-up point guards? Actually, remember when the Raptors ONLY had capable back-up point guards (Jack, Bayless, Calderon-ish, Ford)? Yeah, I miss that.
  4. No Mike James sighting tonight. C’mon Thibs! Your Bulls were blowing out the Raps, give the man some playing time. Light twitter ablaze with Dave Chappelle jokes!
  5. Thoughts and wishes go out to Dwight Buycks and his family for the passing of Dwight Buycks Sr.

  • Andre Julian Ward

So, any guesses on how long before we get a new head coach? …………………………

    • drg

After we trade one of our wings

      • cdub

I think Casey will be the first to go.

        • http://www.wearingfilm.com/picketfence/ Tim W.

If Ujiri decides to blow it up, what’s the point of firing Casey?

          • Kujo2020

Casey only has this year left on his contract right? He’s a lame duck coach. No way is he back next year. No point in firing him this season.

            • robertparrish00

Keeping Casey would delay the development of JV, TRoss etc. yet another year. So yes, fire him sooner than later.

          • mountio

because even in a blow it up scenario casey wont give minutes to young guys .. its not in his DNA. I would assume if we blow it up, casey goes and an assistant takes over for the rest of the year, and TR/JV get lots of minutes.

  • http://ryanrobinson.ca/ Ryan Robinson

Ummm, score is backwards in the title. I was very confused since it was a blowout for the Bulls when I stopped watching.

    • DDayLewis

      Fixed.

  • matt

back to the good old trend…not bad enough for a good draft pick and not good enough to be a playoff team. Typical of this shitty ass team

  • Roarque

Can we play our home games in Memphis?

  • Casey Sherman

Fields’ two shots: airball 12-footer, missed layup. Smh…

    • higdale

Look at Hawks/Bucks/Bobcats game. Stop thinking shots only.

      • Casey Sherman

Huh? I was just pointing out something silly. Sorry my two sentence comment wasn’t able to evaluate every single aspect of his game….

  • SHAQ

For every basket dd scores he gives up another at the other end. The problem with the team as a WHOLE is they allow too many easy baskets. Rudy and dd are both take defensive possessions off and play almost game.

  • leftovercrack

Same old, same old. Our backcourt and wings take 60 shots, our big men take 6 shots; 60 long distances shots that are less likely to go in, 6 high-probability shots from close to the basket

  • ad

Cmon an A+ for dd?? Thats bs. 1 reb and 1 assist?? B+ at most. He doesnt contribute in any way besides score when his jumper is falling. Im so sick of him and rudy. Hopefully this increases dd’s trade value so the messiah can ship him out. Anyways, the whole team sucked tonight. Tank is back on track :)

    • DDayLewis

37 points on 22 shots against the Bulls offense is enough for an A+. Give the kid a break.

      • ad

Nope. 5th year in the league. Guy still cant play d, rebound, or defend. You have to look at the big picture.

        • ad

          oops, meant pass not defend

        • DDayLewis

Believe me, few people are more down on Demar than I am, but in terms of his performance in tonight’s game, he deserved it. I get that we want more, but relative to his teammates and his performances from earlier in the season, this was an A+ for Demar.

          • ad

If his performance was valuable, the team would not have lost by 16. Give an nba player 22 shots and most guys can do what he did.

            • DDayLewis

Are you kidding me? 37 points on 22 shots is amazing. What kind of basketball are you watching? His true shooting percentage was 70.2% tonight.

              • ad

meh… the team still lost by 16. So that true shooting pct by him means squat. Again, its not solely his fault the team lost, but your placing way more value on his performance than its worth. He is not a complete basketball player and doesnt impact the game that much. Especially when he is not hitting shots.

                • DDayLewis

…except he did. Give him a break.

                • ad

Sure, lets give him a break and continue supporting mediocrity.

                • DDayLewis

You could try not being miserable.

                • ad

I wouldnt say im being miserable. Just trying to be realistic since DD and the rest of the team just arent that good. I would love for them to be good but its not going to work with this roster or these core players.

                • DDayLewis

His grade for tonight’s game has no bearing on the validity of the team’s current construction.

                • ad

It doesnt, your right. But lets not overrate him or his performance. An average nba sg can do what he does. We’ll have to agree to disagree on this one

                • DDayLewis

I agree. Demar is an average shooting guard who had a great night.

                • HogyG

Do you really think any average SG can do what DeMar did tonight? So far in this young season, the bulls defense has been everything we’ve known it to be. Let’s take a look at how their other competition matches up with DD’s scoring performance tonight. (Below, we’ll be looking at both their opponent’s starting SG and their top team scorer of the of the night)

                  Miami SG – D.Wade – 13 (5-13) top scorer – LBJ – 17 (5-11)

                  Knicks SG – Shumpert – 7 (2-6) top scorer – Melo – 22 (8-24)

                  76ers SG – Anderson – 1 (0-1) top scorer – MCW – 26 (10-22)

                  Pacers SG – Stephenson – 15 (5-17) top scorer – George – 21 (6-19)

Jazz SG – Hayward – 15 (5-15) he was also the top scorer

                  Cavs SG – Waiters – 13 (6-13) top scorer – Kyrie 16 (5-19)

                  DeMar – 37 (13-22)

As you can see so far this season it’s been a challenge to even get up 22 shots against The Bulls high pressure defense. DeMar bested all scorers the Bulls have faced let alone the SG on their respective teams. Take a good look at the list above, there’s some pretty good names up there when it comes to scoring the rock. Show a little respect to a man who showed tonight that he can be an elite scorer in this league. When he locks down his consistency on the offensive end he’s going to give a lot of defenses fits on a nightly basis. He’s still growing/maturing as a player and as a person, so for now give the guy a break and enjoy the fact that tonight he had an A+ scoring performance against a stellar defensive team!

Good job DeMar, Go Raptors, let’s hope they bounce back against Portland with the early start Sunday game!

                • DDayLewis

You’re entirely entitled to your opinion.

                • http://www.wearingfilm.com/picketfence/ Tim W.

What does it matter if the team lost by 16? Listen I’m as hard on DeRozan as anyone around here, but the guy played a good game. Without him, it would have been a 36 point loss.

He scored 37 points on 22 shots, which is excellent. He did most of his damage in the second half, and he was the only Raptor that didn’t seem to wilt when the team was down.

Saying he got an A+ isn’t excusing the rest of his season, but for one game, he was excellent.

      • leftovercrack

I’m frustrated by how it’s an either/or thing with Demar and Rudy. Either one dominates the game and the other sucks, or the reverse. I want to see JV dominate the shot taking or Lowry or even have Amir and Ross hoist up more

      • matt

he only deserves an A+ if he plays an all-around game….which he didn’t. That’s one of his biggest weaknesses as a player. When he’s scoring the ball, he forgets what defense is

      • Andrey

omg Will is saying to give Demar a break?! who are you?

        • DDayLewis

Totally out of character, I know. Where’ve you been, Andrey? Haven’t seen you comment in a while.

          • Andrey

            hahaha I’ve been around.

    • adisanidiot

did you even watch the game, no one was doing anything. he had like half the field goals made of the team and almost half the teams fucking points on 60% shooting and your not even giving him an A. your an idiot and if you wanna tank just go watch the cavs they’ll get their 3rd #1 pick in 4 years and still suck.

    • AB4EYE

He went full hero ball and refused to pass to wide open guys when we were down a ton but he was hitting and it got us back in the game so he should get a good grade despite poor secondary numbers in my book.

  • Adriiian

Blow it up Masai. I’m going to the Portland game on Sunday, and I think I’m regretting my dad paying for those tickets.
Only game this season if this doesn’t turn around.

Ship Gay out first please. I hate the guys game with a passion.

    • unknown

      lol my dad.

This is the Raptors – no one passes

        • Adriiian

hahaha. i’m almost 21 boss. you guys are hilarious nonetheless.

  • http://skritch.blogspot.com/ Nathan Ng

Can we assign Buycks an incomplete grade, at least for this game? His dad just passed away. (read his Twitter feed) His head (& heart) was probably a mess.

    • DDayLewis

Good point. I’ll see what I can do. It’s hard to change the grades.

    • StabbyRaccoon

      :( that’ll do it.

  • Dave23

It’s amazing how many commenters on this site get worked up about these grades, as if they’re anything other than a harmless subjective opinion. Does it really matter in whether DD gets a B+ or an A?

    • HogyG

I get where you’re coming from, on the surface it is exactly as you describe. However, the same can be said about every grade you received in school. Aren’t they just the harmless subjective opinion of your teacher as to your ability to perform in any given subject at that time? Perhaps they are slightly more meaningful (to you and your parents they may be or at least they feel that way), but they are all attempting to define someone’s performance never the less. Did you ever disagree with a grade you received in school? If so, why? It was only one person’s subjective opinion of your performance.

Everyone on here isn’t the same age, for some, as we often mistake every avatar out there to have someone just like us behind it, (except maybe a little more or less crazy depending on if they agree with us or not, haha), this site and sites like it create a type of learning environment for younger fans. It provides a place to glean what the expert writing staff and more serious/passionate fans think about their favorite team and players.

The writers are in the tough position (whether they want to be or not) of influencing the public as to how they SHOULD see the team and it’s performances. In this example of giving grades to players, if their evaluation is less than accurate, they begin to wrongfully influence the public’s opinion on the potential of the players. If a passionate fan sees their player or team being misrepresented publicly, they can feel an obligation to correct the supposed error, perhaps in the fear that the uneducated portion of the fan base will begin to believe a falsehood (It’s kind of like a parent going in to talk to the teacher on their child’s behalf). Public opinion shouldn’t matter to people, but as we know, it influences the vast majority of the world we live in today (keeping up with the Joneses as it were).

Fans take their sports seriously, as seriously as we all took our report cards growing up. But you’re right perhaps it shouldn’t matter. After all, it IS all just a subjective opinion of one person and shouldn’t be treated as anything more than that.

Still, it’s easier said (or typed) than done.

      • Nilanka15

Grades in school actually have an impact on life. RR grades, literally zero impact.

        • HogyG

True, perhaps school grades have slightly more impact than the RR grades. But then again, when was the last time you were asked to see your transcript when applying for a job? All they are actually interested in is a diploma, they rate your knowledge based on the school you represent, if you can prove that you jumped through their hoops by brandishing a diploma, they will assume the rest.

Grades given in school only affect you while you are in the school system, many drop outs have become successes, just as many honor students have found themselves homeless. In the end, grades given by teachers only impact people who are held back because of them (and in those cases you would hope it was for their best). Of course, in many school systems across North America they have adopted a “move them through” system making the grades that are given almost as worthless as those given here.

  • moe

another great game coached by casey…. really feel we can gt a top 3 pick with the way he coaches.

  • Mack

    Raptors to-do list:
    – Get rid of Dwane Casey; good defensive coach but this team isn’t making proper use of it’s players on offense.
    – (Somehow) Trade Rudy Gay and his AWFUL contract.
    – Trade Landry Fields and his moderately terrible contract.
    – Let Kyle Lowry walk in the off-season. We really need to go a different direction at the 1.
    – Search for a legit starting PF who allow Amir to come off the bench (IMO a better role for him)

    • higdale

Note to Mack look at Hawks/Bucks/Bobcats/ game. Fields isn’t hurting the raptors. Casey is. If you want to trade Fields play him 20 min so that teams can see that he can help teams that have high IQs.

  • Bendit

Seriously, you are concerned that DD wasnt allowed to beat his personal best pts scored….in a game like this? And what should that mean to him when his team lost the game like they were sleep walking and being slapped around nevermind that he scored most of his pts. when the game was way out of reach.

  • Dplo

    Soooo… we ready to tank?

Comon seriously. This isn’t gonna get better. Sure the Bulls are a solid playoff team, but thats what will happen if we even get to the playoffs. Embarasing performances like this.

    • Jose

Tank it baby. The only way for this franchise. I thought I would never say this, but it is what it is.

  • rtz

Celt I’ve traded doc. Can we trade Casey for like a ball boy or a towel or something. In my estimation, Would produce same results.

  • IROR

WHY must I read the comment section on Raps losses…WHY????

  • higdale

Playoffs!!! Playoffs!!! It’s a pipe dream. The Raptors were out of this one from the opening tip. How much longer are the fans going to have listen to post game comments from Casey like ” one of those games ” ” we can’t come out like this” “mental frustration ” ( what’s that ) “we had a good week” ok Utah – can’t play them every night, Houston- let’s not talk about that one, Memphis – is struggling big time and the Bulls just kicked your ass in your own house how’s that a good week. Casey can’t motivate players, rarely has this team come out with energy, ball movement or execution. He doesn’t hold players or himself accountable have you ever heard him say I didn’t get the team ready to play or that one was on me. Face it his success has come at the assistant coach level and he’s right this is the NBA and if players are an extension of their coach then Casey you’ve got a lot of explaining to do.

  • AB4EYE

Everything that Casey did positive in Memphis and got my false hope up he did terrible tonight. The starters sucked in the first half and that’s not all on coach but he then went from the short bench and always having starters on the floor sticking with our good defenders in that Memphis game to going with 5 bench players with a couple guys who have hardly seen the floor this year and a odd unit that likely hasn’t played one second together since the start of camp.

  • Karma

In other news Andrea Bargnani has a 20.16 PER. The kid is balling

    • http://www.wearingfilm.com/picketfence/ Tim W.

He’s also just played 8 games, and the Knicks are one of the worst defensive teams in the league and have the worst rebounding percentage in the league. So there’s that.

      • iLMagoTape4life

not because of Bargnani, there perimeter defense sucks.

      • cesco

I don’t know were you get a rebounding percentage but at NBA.com Miami
is last in total rebounds ( NY is second last ) . Boston when they were a
powerhouse were always near the bottom in total rebounds . Utah is 1-9
and is solidly in the middle of the pack in total rebounds and NY lost
their best rebounder after 3 games ( Chandler ) . Andrea is the LEAST of
the problems NY has , they knew about his rebounding problems before they traded for him .

  • iLMagoTape4life

    JV is a bust

  • Guest

    man i want bargnani back

  • iLMagoTape4life

bring barney back! bring barney back! bring barney back!

  • One relaxed fella

Jonas had another bad night defensively and I don’t like it at all. Noah, Hibbert, Horford, Howard and Gasol all outplayed and outscored Jonas. He couldn’t handle them on D and couldn’t do anything on the offensive end (well, he played pretty well against Rockets). Noah scored 18, Hibbert 20, Horford 22, Gasol 18 and Howard 18 points, and if I remember correctly, he also was out rebounded as well. I know that he’s a sophomore and these guys are top centers in the league, but he needs to make serious improvement on his defense. Don’t want to go there, but Drummond already looks like an excellent center and he’s two years younger than Jonas.

    • iLMagoTape4life

maybe if we had bargnani to stretch the floor, genius.

    • Kujo2020

We could have had Drummond, and JV. But no, BC picked Ross instead. :(

    • FLUXLAND

Careful now, the apologists will be looming and accusing of you of hindsight because EVERYONE was questioning Drummond’s motor, etc before the draft. Plus, JV’s defense is not as important as getting him minutes and feeding him the ball so he can free up DD and Gay, amirite?

      • One relaxed fella

I still think he should get more shots/ touches on the offensive end regardless to his defense. The fact alone that he struggles on the defensive end doesn’t mean he should be ignored on the offensive end. I just hate this incompetence that Casey and some players bring to the game. If that’s the case then why the hell Rudy and DeMar can take so many shots despite their lousy defense? Especially DeMar, because his perimeter defense is pretty awful. But it’s OK. Everyone is looking the other way because he’s a top scorer in this team but his defense or his efficiency on offensive end is not important at all..

However, I do agree that Jonas should (and he probably is) concentrate on improving his defense as a top priority rather than improving his offense. And, this probably is going to sound silly, but I think that there’s some psychological stuff involved as well. Everyone likes to score or at least to shoot. It’s the most exciting thing to do and it is the most noticeable statistical number in basketball. That’s why DeMar and Rudy play like that. But when a player is absolutely ignored because two guys have to collect their average ppg with their crafty bellow 40 percent shooting, when a player gets tired of asking for the ball when he’s actually wide open that’s when you start to lose your confidence and patience. And confidence helps a lot on both ends of the floor. It can lift your game or it can pull you down.

As for Drummond, there’s no need to feel sorry now, although I was the one who started to sob about it in the first place. You always pick the best possible player there is regardless to his position and that’s a lesson learned.

  • iLMagoTape4life

    LOL

  • iLMagoTape4life

    i miss bargnani so much

    Some thoughts from this one
    – The bulls play REALLY good defense. OKC was similar last year, and Miami when they turn it on. Its amazing how stifled we were. Thats what a real defensive coach can do for a team. Yes, they have some good natural defenders (ie Noah) – but they also have some bad natural defenders (Boozer) and it works very well. Thibs is fantastic
    – We actually had an inbounds play work for a dunk and foul! (of course we turned over an inbounds play shortly thereafter .. but … )
    – Lets not forget the bulls didnt even need rose to lay down this beating
    – its been mentioned, but needs to be emphasized. This team MUST have at least one (preferably 2) of KL, RG, DD, JV on the court at all times. That 2nd quarter lineup was a joke. This should not be hard to accomplish with reasonable subbing patterns, Im baffled as to why casey cant figure this out
    – As a footnote to this .. TR should be in the above list .. but he just isnt yet. Its a little frustrating that he doesnt take the bull by the horns in this type of lineup and still hides in the corner. With these stiffs on the court, the offense should run through TR every time. I guess too much playing with RG and DD will to you. This needs to be fixed (either by TR or casey or both)
    – This one was tough to watch .. if it wasnt for DD (btw – how about that finish in traffic … I was more impressed with that than his hot shooting (which was good too). Anyways .. if it wasnt for DD, I would have left after the third q .. it was that bad.

  • JHP

Don’t know much about basketball but for 74 m , they sure did not get a lot. Top 10 in salary and bottom 15 in talent. I laugh when people say they expected a 4/6 start and then you realize a 33 win team is now the norm. I would imagine last night’s game might motivate the new GM to make changes sooner then later. Of course a lot of this mess was left by the last GM.

And of course AB is doing just fine with New York. But honestly who knew he could rebound :-)

    FREE GRAY!!!.
Please trade him. I like the kid to much and feel his pain as he gets told to sit or not even dress and then watch his mates allow such piss poor defense.
And enough of Jonas being the next Jesus!
Offense…bull…play defense or go home wannabes
    Set him free!

Please shut up. You BF Aaron Gray should be lucky he is on a roster. So he should just shut up and collect his paycheck.

      • ppellico

ya…and your plan is working so friggin well. your studs are just fantastic real NBA players.
take your whipping like you should. you just can’t take it.

        • johng_3

And your plan is play Aaron Gray for some reason. If we had Dwight Howard, I bet you would say play Aaron Gray over him because that is how much of a troll you are. My plan is to tank and develop our young players who can be useful for the future. Not AARON GRAY dummy.

            “you” have a plan…?
            funny.
but IF you knew anything at all about the NBA, Howard or Gray…you would know he plays well against Howard and these bigger centers.
This would have been one night of his particular strengths should have been used.
To not do so would once again be the narrow minded casey…and I guess yourself.
But what difference does reality make in your world of idiot basketball.
You are just another in a long line of pretenders…..
and a bit of a coawrd to once again start calling names with the safety of the internet between you and who you decide to flip off.
You do this in your car as well…and then speed off?????

            • johng_3

Yes sure Gray just plays great when playing all-stars like Dwight Howard and Roy Hibbert. Keep thinking that to yourself. Just because he is fat and big, it doesn’t mean he is valuable asset. He is a third string center, thats it. You know nothing about basketball. To think AARON GRAY can hang with Dwight Howard night in and night out makes you look stupid.

Thibodeaus coaching staff cheated…they looked at Raptors game tape before playing them. Is this allowed? Does Casey know this is allowed? *end of fake outrage*

  • Jose

Let’s hope that they get 3-4 more wins this season. That really puts them in a good spot this summer. Draft is really deep. I know this must be horrible for the people actually paying to see them, but this is the only way forward. I hope that Ujiri thinks that way too.

    BTW
This is the first season in past 15 years, I really want them to tank.

I think it was a bit of a weird hope that Chicago would be weaker with D Rose gone. Chicago went to the 2nd round without him. And sometimes a team is worse off when a big talent guy is inserting or re-inserting back into an already functioning team. See Dwight Howard and Asik. Chicago has had to work well without Rose – you could see it in their fluidity of play – as above.
