At 8 p.m. on TSN, the 8-13 Raptors visit the 9-12 Bulls.

That’s all the pregame you get. I’m sick, sorry.

The Raps are 1.5-point dogs, if that matters to you at all. They’ll lose.

I am in on the “Old Grey Biscuits” nickname……looking forward to tonight !!

“Old Grey Biscuit?” What’s that a nickname for? Sounds like something my ex would see it me

I’m sure one of the many readers here at RaptorsRepublic would’ve gladly taken the opportunity to write a pregame on this “snow day”.

    • BlakeMurphy

Go for it man, write it up in the comments! I had planned to do it but can’t shake this awful cold/throat thing. Haven’t eaten anything but Gatorade and soup for days. Just didn’t have the energy.

    • mike, prague

This would be a great thing to do even once a month. Readers could submit their pre-games and mods could pick the best one … If it wouldn’t be too much work.

      • BlakeMurphy

We did it once before for Quick Reaction. It’s not terribly difficult if we plan it out well. I’ll look into it a possible feature in the new year.

What Masai Ujiri needs right now is to watch his new creation play basketball against a true contender – a smash mouth NBA defensive juggernaut capable of challenging the Raptor’s newly minted offense that is showing in no uncertain terms how much Rudy Gay’s behaviour held the team hostage for most of the 2013 / 14 season to date. The LAL and the 76er’s are not good examples of a true NBA contender. Neither is the current roster Chicago Bulls team. But for now they’ll have to do. I for one want to see the Raptors play sans Lowry for about 12 minutes. The new kid in town – Greasy Buckets – needs to show us that he can not only lead the troops on the O but to also do his share on the D. What I saw on Friday night was that his D was frightening. Sooo are we sure that we want to encourage the Jedi Master to blow this up for Shumpert’s left knee?

Its a great day to be a Raptor fan !! Tonight we go into Chicago 2-1 after the black hole trade, looking for a signature win. Rudy Gays fifty games here I think could have put this teams development into warp speed . He taught the kids exactly what you shouldn’t do if you want to play team ball. Over and over again he showed what not to do.
Terence Ross knows he can do what Gay gave us , plus enjoying passing the ball. If Ross would take it to the hole on a consistent basis when he gets the lane , he could be unstoppable. Demar after watching what not to do consistently over and over is starting to look for the pass when there is nothing there instead of hoisting the contested deuce.
JV and Amir are pinching themselves waking up from the nightmare that was the black hole hog ball. Smiles and lane passes are a wonderful thing to watch from the big men. Lets give the boys from Sacramento a clean slate. Patterson looks nice going for boards , Salmon looks like he could give us something , with passing and open looks , Gervais could take this team to another level if he can give us something up tempo on the second unit. Running , filling the lane, team defense , solid front court could let us go into Chicago and dole out some much needed pay back to the hurting Bulls. Lets not hear of the tank in front of the hustling kids . 3-1 baby lets go get it.

      Here Here! Preach on!

We are in no position to be bad enough to get a top pick so let’s play hard and try and trade with those that want to be (bad)! Playoffs are an almost certain lock, how many years have we been able to say that?
We need to reward all the hard work and improvement put in by Demar and Amir!

If we lose Lowry, so be it, we are still in position to contend with Greivis!
This team has gone from depressing and plodding to fast and fun literally overnight!
Can we go from hopeful .500 ballclub first round playoff exit victim to potential 48 – 50 win Team and first round playoff victor? I say yes! And I say that is a good thing!

The new-look Raptors coming off a win against the Sixers head to the Madhouse tonight to face off a Bulls team with only 3 wins in their last 10 including a needed road-win last night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

    Position Breakdown

    Point Guard
Kyle Lowry and Greivis Vasquez vs. Kirk Hinrich, DJ Augustin, Mike James & Marquis Teague
    Edge: Raptors
Lowry and Hinrich are pretty much a wash both are solid guys on both ends of the court but for whatever reason Thibs has DJ playing backup (12 mins last night, DNPs for the rest) that alone tips the scale for the Raptors

DeMar DeRozan, Terrence Ross, John Salmons and Landry Fields vs. Jimmy Butler, Luol Deng, Mike Dunleavy and Tony Snell
    Edge: Raptors
Last night was Butler’s return from an injury that sidelined him for 11-games so he’s still working himself back to game shape, Deng is questionable tonight with an Achilles and has already missed 4 in a row. The Bulls are hurting and needless to say its easy to see that one or both of DeRozan and Ross should have a very effective game against Dunleavy and Snell.

Tyler Hansbrough, Jonas Valanciunas, Amir Johnson, Steve Novak and Patrick Patterson vs. Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and Nazr Mohamed
    Edge: Bulls
The bullies on the block, Raptors are going to have their hands full tonight with the activity, rebounding and 2nd chance opportunities the Bulls create.

    Final Thought

Bulls are favourites -2.5 and are playing at home where they are 6-3 with that being said, both teams are coming off a back-2-back and with the passing that was on display last night I can’t see the Raptors losing here to an undermanned squad. Raptors by 7.

Gonna be a great evening. Raps game on, Wiggins on, ex-wife travelling and averse to long distance calls, and a foolish friend gave me an unwrapped bottle of Johnnie Black as a Christmas present and asked me not to drink it until the 25th

Exceptional night ahead, if you have the opportunity to flip it over to the Knicks game and watch the Italian pony. With his hands up like somebodies pointing a gun at him and that stupid look on his face , that scotch is going to taste even smoother .Hoist a toast to the Mas gm god.

      • leftovercrack

We gotta put a statue of James Dolan in front of the ACC center!

‘They’ll lose’ Really? Wow…. Did I miss something? Is that a joke? Otherwise I might assume that the journalist who wrote this piece is not a journalist at all.
