Game 7 convalescence appears to be complete, or so we tell ourselves. Andrew pops up on the pod as we dive into a bunch of topics which may or may not be Raptors related. Before we get too far though, here’s the video referred to early in the podcast.

  • Dwane Casey’s contract extension
  • Casey’s impact over the years
  • DeMar DeRozan’s playoff numbers compared to Vince Carter and Chris Bosh
  • Terrence Ross and his ‘starts’
  • Adding depth at the small forward
  • Is Vince Carter a realistic option? We agree but remain far apart
  • The timing of Lowry’s new deal – when things will get finalized
  • The “right” contract for Lowry – we talk money, length and contract structure
  • Can/should we re-sign Patterson and Vasquez? Are there similarities to the 2001-02 season when re-signing back-fired?
  • Playoff coverage of the other second-round series – ode to the Spurs
  • New segment called “Digital Dish” where we recommend new stuff to add to your online reading/viewing

On the signings let me just say I’m shopping for my Toronto Raptors Vasquez jersey and a hat, plus I want me some red kicks….lol… Go Spurs

    Rubin Hurricane Carter… R.I.P.
    Vincent Lamar Carter… F.O.A.D.

The 2013-2014 Raptors team had unbelievable chemistry, and so-called pundits like Thompson want to re-inject Wince into the mix based on (likely declining) talent alone? Hmmm, so maybe Carter is thriving in Dallas due to a veteran leadership (Dirk, Matrix, Jose) that has put past malcontents like Dalembert, Monta and Wince in their places, no?

But sure, let’s add Wince to the Raptors roster, where the most integral piece is only frickin’ 28 years-old and is just in Year 1 of running the team.

I certainly agree with Zarar’s point that if the VLC media player injures himself — like a 37.5-year-old is wont to do — it will be the ultimate deja vu shit sandwich. And I will be the first one to boo him as he rolls around on the parquet.

I really don’t get some of you guys. Spend less time on basketball-reference.com and more time on alternatives that fit when you consider team makeup.
