In the past few years, Raptors Republic has hosted events in Toronto for the readers of the Republic to enjoy a game together at a bar. Obviously, this is awesome.

I recently moved to Vancouver and am looking into hosting a Raptors Republic West event at some point this season. However, I have no idea if any of the Republic exist in the Vancouver area and/or if there would be any interest in hanging out and watching a game together.

So…please respond in the comments (or send me a tweet/email) if you live in the Vancouver area and would be interested. If there is any amount of interest, I’ll take our rough numbers to a few sports bars in town and see if they’re willing to hook up any deals for us.

On June 24th the Raptors will make some moves, including drafting a new player. Come join us at Sports Centre Cafe near Yonge St./St. Clair Ave. starting at 6:30PM to watch the action. We’ll give away some RR swag and other prizes as you’ll be on the clock with each pick right up till the end of the first round. If you call the picks right, you’ll be getting stuff, if you call them wrong, you’ll still probably get stuff, just not the good kind. I mean, we can’t be giving you free t-shirts if you pick Eric Bledsoe to go #2, right? There’s also trivia contests and the classic Raptor Fan Friday games of Who Dat B? and Who he play 4?. There’s more information here, also don’t forget that we’ll have a live blog on the front page of RR starting at 6:30PM. There’s also Twitter and Facebook which will be updated very frequently throughout the night.

Whether the Raps are playing at home or on the road on Friday nights, RFF will be uniting the Raptors fan community and bringing together fellow hardcore “fan-addicts” like ourselves to create a rowdy ACC upper-bowl type crowd at SCC! And like we always do, we’ll be featuring our specialty Raptors Republic bar games and contests, while giving away drinks and prizes and having a whole lotta fun causing a Raptors fan-style ruckus!

This week the Raptors are playing their only Friday night West coast game of the season going up against the hard-luck Blake Griffin-less, the Baron Davis shot-chucking-mad, your good ol’ granddaddy’s ineptly dysfunctional… Los Angeles Clippers! (Sincerely, our hearts go out to our friends at ClipperBlog). So to go get things started for tonight’s game party, the first RFF challenge of the season is as follows: The first person who tells me to “Make Some Goddamn M*tha F***king LOUD CROWD NOISE!!!” will get a pitcher of my favorite beer! (BOH!)
