  • Tas Melas From TBJ On Colangelo

and to alesser extent bosh but mostly colangelo's comments

Now, maybe I just feel the need to have a little state of the union ’cause I’m headed to the cottage this weekend, and that’s what people do out on the dock, contemplate-your-life time. Bryan contemplated Bosh’s Raptor career in his sorry rant and said CB4 was hard to build around: “We tried in vain to put pieces around Chris. Different pieces, different styles. It didn’t work out.”

You didn’t build around Bosh, Bryan, you built behind him. Every man you acquired to join that roster was not even close to Bosh’s level; they were inferior. Who was the best player Bosh ever played with? T.J. Ford? Jose Calderon? Jermaine O’Neal? I love the games of an Anthony Parker, Jorge Garbajosa, and Carlos Delfino as much as the next guy, but they took this team as high as they could in that 47-win, division championship triumph. (OK, maybe the team wins a playoff series if Garbo didn’t break his leg. Who knows?) But with the first overall pick in team history in ‘06 you drafted a player who plays the same position, rebounds less than Bosh, and pretended to masquerade him as a center — Andrea Bargnani. Every coach was forced to play your prized possession alongside your best player, but he couldn’t truly compliment his skill set. Even the casual fan can see that you don’t put the slight player who doesn’t play big beside the other slight player who doesn’t play big.

Meh, who cares what this idiot says. The basketball jones is totally overrated. They look like a couple of emo-tranny douchebags who pretend to like hoops anyways. If i saw them on the street i would probably throw a pineapple at them. The one blessing is that the Score is no longer playing games, so we will be spared their ridiculousness this year (although the score will probably play all the Heat games).

I thought it was pretty awesome that BC called out Bosh, i wish he did it sooner, but who cares, he is calling it like he sees it. I respect him more now.

Tas Melas sucks, his stupid Hedo impersonation was so stupid, lets export this dillweed to Miami (yeah, i said it, dillweed).

Is anyone who doesn't agree with you an idiot? The guy makes some good points on Colangelo's failures even though I disagree with the idea of him "degrading" his star player. Bosh passive aggressively threw his former team under the bus and Colangelo was defending that team while pointing out that Bosh's crap does in fact stink regardless of what Bosh may like you to think during his constant need for attention.

        Good read.

BC is full of sh*t when he talks about building around Bosh. Bosh aka skinny man, never played next to a real center in Bargnani which is why BC is trying to acquire a center as to move Bargnani back to his natural position of PF sans Bosh. BC's job hinges on Bargnani being a certified NBA baller in my mind & season ticket/sky box renewals.

But with the first overall pick in team history in ‘06 you drafted a player who plays the same position, rebounds less than Bosh, and pretended to masquerade him as a center — Andrea Bargnani. Bosh left and MLSE allowed Colangelo to dish out money to Kleiza long term and continue to do deals. I'm starting to lean towards the idea that he's staying long term unless the team disintegrates in the locker room. The on court results won't matter much this year, its all about the progress of the new pieces.

These are the rosters BC provided Bosh with as GM. BC made sideways moves around Bosh, plus his reluctance to trade Bargnani- a finesse PF like Bosh, is his undoing. Now he has to build around Bargnani by getting a real center- something he should have done for Bosh- a past his prime injury recovery JO just doesn't cut it.

2009-10 (Jay gets a training camp, instills no accountability era. Rap's 40-42)

            2008-09 (Sam fired at 8-9. Jay takes over goes 25-40. Rap's 33-49)

2007-08 (Another overrated roster by BC that Sam coached up. 41-41 Playoffs)

2006-07 (BC year 1. Rap's won Atlantic but it was the weakest Division in NBA. Rap's 47-35)

The more BC opens his mouth the more desperate he appears. NJ's new owner, in his open letter to LBJ, showed these fools how to act with a touch of class.

Absolutely agree about Bargnani being the same type of player as Bosh, with both having weaknesses that the other cannot hide. Thus the weak interior defense these past 4 seasons.

BC tried to put a legit center with Bosh in JO, but at the same time he gave up the man who was running the offense in TJ Ford. Jose wasn't quite able to cut it as a starter, and once his injuries started, our lack of depth at that position was so apparent it was just ugly. It was like plugging one hole and creating another in the process.

So then he thought he would try his hand during the summer free-agency and traded JO for an expiring Marion contract, which eventually lead to getting Hedo. And once again holes were apparent with the lack of interior defense, as well as defense at the point of attack on pick and rolls. We were back to having no legit center, at the same time no one quick enough to guard opposing PGs.

All in all I believe BC has to take share of the blame for the franchise woes. Of all the things he tried to mend when things didn't work out, the Bargnani-Bosh interior defense issue was something he turned a blind eye to. I also believe it's one of the factors that lead to Bosh's decision to leave.

                          Another Article FRom The Score

this time from Holly Mackenzie who I don't personally care for so I didn't read the whole thing. but, here you guys go read away.

I felt bad for Bosh because when he says he has never, ever in his life stepped onto a basketball court and not given his all, I believe that he believes that. I also believe that what was really up for debate in the eyes of disgruntled Raptors’ fans wasn’t whether he played hard, but why he wasn’t on the floor to play hard after spraining his ankle when he was medically cleared to play.

This really shouldn’t be a surprise to Raptors’ fans (or to Colangelo) who have spent seven seasons with Bosh. I’m not ripping him when I say this, and I truly hate speculating about the extent of an injury, but I will say that I don’t think Bosh’s pain tolerance is as high as a lot of guys in the NBA.

Using his staying in the game after spraining his ankle against Memphis as evidence that he wasn’t giving up, I couldn’t help but think of an example on this Raptors’ squad. I can tell you that there was a chunk of time during the race towards the playoffs where Antoine Wright was scratched off of the practice list by trainers, only to decide he was going to practice and then play through the pain anyway. Now, I don’t know how that sprain would limit Bosh’s game and effectiveness. Those are things only he can answer and I’m sure, in his mind, he did by not playing.

Actually very interesting for her to call out Colangelo as an 'enabler', to say: hey, what could you have done with Bosh when you could see he wasn't giving 100% any more.
