Hey slow day at work. The new ESPN article broke down the "Most Likely" and "Other Amnesty Candidates." And since it's a slow day in NBA world and at work, I'll break em down for ya!

Other Amnesty Candidates: Jermaine O'Neal, Matt Carroll, Boris Diaw, Corey Maggette, Antawn Jamison, Brendan Haywood, Shawn Marion, Rip Hamilton, Ben Gordon, Andris Biedrins, Hasheem Thabeet, James Posey, Randy Foye, Metta World Peace, Steve Blake, Eddie House, Drew Gooden, Darko Milicic, Brad Miller, Nikola Pekovic, Luke Ridnour, Martell Webster, Johan Petro, Ronny Turiaf, Nate Robinson, Hedo Turkoglu, Elton Brand, Mickael Pietrus, Hakim Warrick, Marcus Camby, Francisco Garcia, John Salmons, Raja Bell

Colangelo pretty much said they're not going to be big players in free agency. I expect them to target the "diamonds in the rough" and get Casey a few "Casey guys".

Pietrus strikes me as a guy to target. He's publicly proclaimed his love and interest in Toronto in the past. Remember the year they goofed on Kapono? Pietrus was interested in coming here then. He might help fill the gap at the 3.

Dahntay Jones seems like he could be a solid Casey guy. Good wing off the bench that would know his role and not try to steal DD's minutes.

Webster screams Casey. Quality defender and can knock down shots. He'd be great coming off the bench.

He's only played in around half the games in the past three years. He's also an underachiever.

Marvin Williams strikes me as a player who could desperately use a change of scenery. I wouldn't mind giving him a shot.

I would very much like Webster here. There is a team option for 2012-13 so it is the epitome of a low risk, high reward situation. He is another player like Amir (and Lou Williams) who were the last of high school players to be drafted. They are 24/25 with 6 years in the league.

He has underachieved given his draft status but he did have a couple of major injuries - stress fracture in left foot required surgery in 08/09 and back surgery to start 10/11. The other seasons minus his rookie year he played 82, 75, and 82 games.

If he would agree to a reasonable contract (i.e. the Raptors didn't overpay) I would be all over Marvin Williams. He is a glue player, he guards the best wing, never complains about lack of shots, and is a solid professional from anything I've ever read on him.

Right. So he's never remotely lived up to his billing and he's been hampered by injuries his whole career. No doubt the injuries have played a toll on his development but red flags should be in abundance on a guy this young with so many injury woes. If they can get him for dirt cheap then sure but otherwise I'd pass. I'd much rather see them land a glue guys like Renaldo Balkman and Michael Pietrus.

82, 82, 80 and 77. That's four out of eight of Yao Ming's seasons in the league. That doesn't tell us much about his story.

Again low risk, high reward and he doesn't turn 25 until December. His strengths (3pt shooting and perimeter defense) are the Raptors current weaknesses. If he has a horrible or injury plagued '11-12, he is not picked up for '12-13. I would not give up a whole lot to get him in a trade but Calderon certainly would go if I could get him.

Good point in the comparison to Yao but a bit drastic, imo. Hampered by injuries his whole career is also a bit drastic. Yao had chronic injuries that were continual. Webster had a stress fracture in his foot '08-09 and a herniated disk in the summer of 2010 which caused him to miss the first half of the season and he has been in the league since 2005-2006.

Blake Griffin has missed half of his career, the Clippers should get out now - lol.

                      How bout Brandon Roy?
Im not sure what the status of his injury is right now, but if he is able to play, why not make him a 2nd half guy?
Roy is a gifted scorer and clutch player, i dont think he'll have trouble playing half a game.

Diop is another good starting point for the competitive balance debate. The Mavs threw a huge contract at him with no repercussions because they had another MLE to blow the next year and could afford to do so.

Outlaw and Webster stick out to me ... but I seriously doubt either of their teams will pay them to go away.
