  • January 20: Portland Trailblazers

The schedule certainly does not get much easier tonight or over the next 4. They leave Toronto to play 4 on the road against the CLippers, Suns, Jazz, and Nuggets.

Portland is in town and they must be ecstatic.

So far this season the Raptors have helped:
    - New Jersey end a 6 game losing streak,
    - Sacramento get their first road win of the year and end an 0-5 streak,
    - Washington get their first win of the year (0-8), and
    - Boston end a 5 game losing streak.

Portland enters tonight's game 1-4 in their last 5. Things are so bad there they held a player's only meeting to get to the bottom of the recent struggles.

So as I said, they must be stoked about the game tonight.

    Things to watch:
Aaron Gray - can he contribute anything besides a warm body in a uniform and name on the roster?
Ed Davis - can he start a path of consistency after a solid 9/9 game last time out?
Andrea - is he recovered from the calf transplant?
DeMar - Oh DeMar.... enough pixels have been used on your struggles. Just bring it.
Jerry Bayless - is he recovered from the ankle replacement?
Jamaal Magloire - can you infuriate Aldridge to go for 50/30 with a boarding penalty?
Forbes - can he continue to be a useful part of the rotation?
Kleiza - has he found the WD-40 yet?
Leandro - will he pass tonight?
Butler - hopefully no one brought a shovel to the game and he is buried somewhere in depths of the ACC.
    Amir - Mr. Workhorse
Jose - it will be a good match up between he and Felton (current PG vs. PG many Raps fans want next year).

So far it seems like Barbosa is the only Raptor to give a sh** tonight. The intensity levels are so different between these teams

I think I'm turning on 2K at the half here...

I'm so sick of watching Raptors basketball when they get blown out. Nobody ever has any any anger or passion to try to get them back in it. Nobody seems to want to put the team on their shoulders(aside from maybe Jose). Thank goodness they're aren't playing 82 this season.

Gray just had 3 fouls in like 40 seconds. I'm not even mad, it was impressive.

Yeah, and 4 in less than two minutes. That was a ridiculous sequence.

                      Couple things i noticed tonight:
                      GARY FORBES: still awesome
Ed: always in the right place. His IQ is really high. Just wait until his body catches up with his brain
JJ: when he's on, he's a great help defender. His timing on blocks is impeccable.
DeMar: for like 5 minutes there he was his old self and then he started HOLY SHIT HE JUST HIT THE SIDE OF THE BACKBOARD how for that even happen

Sorry, and then he reverted back to woosy (that still cracks me up) DeMar and oh my god I can't even watch the guy anymore it's infuriating

I never thought I'd ever ever say this but... I can't wait for see Bargnani back and playing. This offense is just downright horrendous without him.

LMA absolutely destroyed the Raps in the post.

Amir: not a good 1 on 1 defender. Playing center certainly doesn't help

Not going to even bring up DD's defense it's like flogging a dead horse at this point. I wonder if he'll ever get it.
