  • BREAKING NEWS: Raptors Sign Pops

    Courtesy of Eric Smith

I’ll have more to come on this shortly … but … the Toronto Raptors have just signed forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu … claiming him off waivers.

He was released/waived by the Houston Rockets on Friday November 13.

This is Mensah-Bonsu’s second stint with the Raptors. In 19 games with Toronto last year, the energetic forward averaged 5.1 points and 5.4 rebounds.

Jonesy and I look forward to dusting off the “British Bulldog” moniker we gave him last season!

Mensah-Bonsu is with the team in Denver and will likely be in uniform tonight.

Excellent move ... Looking forward to see Pops banging around. Raptors needs players like Pops and Evans to provide that spark on defense.
How bad is Hedo injury? (Hopefully is nothing serious)
Probably will see more DeRozan/Weems/Belinelli to fill in for Hedo's minutes.

Just another tid bit concerning Pops:

Injury-hit Toronto must decide by 20 December whether to keep Mensah-Bonsu until the end of the season.

If he fails to secure a long-term deal, for an amount close to the NBA minimum of $800,000.
