I think Leo is a tool but Dalembert's questionable character during his stint w/ team canada leads me to question whether he is worth it. As a backup C at a reasonable contract i'd think about it but I think that other teams would offer him more than i'd want to. If you think we should go after him what kind of contract would you offer? If I could get him at 3 yrs @ 4 mill i'd take it but i doubt it that'd work.
NO, No, and no. We're good.
For a veteran's minimum, sure, why not?
I highly doubt he'd sigh a vet minimum.
No thank you.
Another Dalembert thread?
No thanks. How long before he bitches about playing time?
Because he's the type of young player with a lot of upside the Raptors should be going after?
As a backup maybe but no.
The Raps should be pursuing: Marc Gasol, Chandler and Dalembert in that order. Good centres are at a premium and will be difficult to nab but try we must and overpay for Gasol simply because he is the youngest and with an all-round game better than the others. But he is restricted and so the offer to him must be attractive and unpalatable for the Grizzlies to match.
The Grizz are going to match anything Gasol is offered. They'd be crazy not to.
The part I like about him is he blocks shots and plays defense and grabs boards don't the raptors need that at centre?
Would the Raptors be better off keeping Reggie as opposed to going out after Dalembert?
I think they should go after him. He's the best realistic option. Chandler will re-sign in Dallas and Gasol, well, you know that the Grizzlies absolutely want to keep him, and I think they'll do so. As a backup center, Sam would be perfect.
TO all the people who think Dalembert would be a good idea, you do realize the guy is going to be 30 at the start of next season, right? The team isn't going to be be contending for anything anytime soon, so what exactly is the point if signing a guy who might make the team slightly better in the short term, when wins are probably the least thing they should worry about.
If the Raptors sign someone thing summer, they should be looking at two things. Could he be part of the long term solution of the team, and will his trade value go up, or at the very least, not go down. In both those cases, the answer is no with Dalembert.
I would be given that everything I've read suggests the last thing they're doing this summer is letting him go.

A league source cognizant of the Grizzlies' strategy said Memphis intends to "do what it takes" to retain Marc Gasol, a restricted free agent after the season. "He's the No. 1 priority," the source said.

As for Marc Gasol, I'm told there is zero chance Grizzlies let him go. Plan is to match any offer sheets.
PLEASE stop this madness, Dalembert is playing good of late but only because his contract is up at the end of this season, remember 4 years ago he was grabbing 10 boards and 10 points a game , he got a huge contract and hasn't lived up to his potential.
I don't think his heart is for the love of the game but rather the bigger contract, plus there has been attitude problems in the past with him. I know he is Canadian but that should not be the reason why we sign him. PLEASE stop the madness on this talk of him.
