Yeah, even if Biyombo reaches his Ben Wallace type upside, that doesn't make him a franchise center. Wallace excelled in one very specific system with a very specific set of teammates, but put him on most NBA rosters and he's nothing more than an impact roleplayer (still a very useful guy, but in a completely different category than franchise C). A franchise center is a guy that you can plug in with an average NBA team and they immediately become a contending team. (Or plug him into a crap team, and they immediately become average.)Quote:

Valanciunas' backup center, Predrag Samardziski, is out for 4weeks with a sprained ankle and JV is the only true center left in the line-up, so we'll see extended playing time by JV. This is a good time to watch how he'll control his fouls, one of his major weakneses in the past

I’m a huge fan of Jonas Valanciunas. If it weren’t for his contract situation, he likely would’ve been picked even higher in last year’s draft. By drafting him fifth overall, the Raptors got a steal. Scouts rave about him and say that he has the potential to be an elite player. I’m really looking forward to seeing him in the NBA and it’s possible that he could win Rookie of the Year next season. He’ll definitely have the opportunity to play right away, which means he’ll have a shot.
