Good deal for Detroit. It saves them money and they can amensty Charlie V if they need to.
Charlotte is just gobbling up 2-guards - Kemba Walker, Gerald Henderson, Gordon.
Not quite sure what they would do with the cap space. No offense to Detroit, but it seems like a rather depressing place with almost no fans. Every game the Raptors had with them at Detroit, there are like no one watching. I would think that Toronto is a more favorable destination than Detroit xD
The low assist total coupled with the liberal shot attempts beg to differ. The cats at used DJ Augustin with Walker on the floor a lot last season. Guess who was the point guard in that situation.
Maybe this year will be different, but Kemba's last season at UConn and first season in the nba showed that he shoots first, second and third and passes fourth. He also had a lot of questions coming out of college as to whether he could run an offense.
They haven't amnestied Charlie V yet, so they don't have cap space yet. But getting out of the Ben Gordon contract saves them money. Who knows what they'll do with the cap space, but at least they'll have it.
As for the fan base, the recession hit their fan base hard, but when the Pistons are winning, the fans back them bigtime. You'd rather pay to see a winning product than losing product.
That's easy to verify.
Of Kemba Walker's 20 Top 5-man units - http://www.82games.com/1112/11CHA1.HTM - D.J. Augustin appears three times (Units 3, 15, and 16).
Of D.J. Augustin's 20 Top 5-man units - http://www.82games.com/1112/11CHA2.HTM - Kemba Walker appears 4 times (units 4, 16, 17, and 19)
The data does not support your statement at all.

Odom to Clips with Mo Williams headed to Utah. No idea what the mavs get in it all.
Apparently just some cap savings. Doesn't really matter to the Mavs. Odom was a failure on their team anyways, so no real difference to the Mavs roster. Odom probably won't play that much better on the Clippers than he did on the Mavs. Once you involve yourself with the Kardashians, your NBA career is basically going down the drain :D
So Houston is still stacking up on rookies?Quote:
The Los Angeles Clippers acquired Lamar Odom from the Dallas Mavericks as part of a four-team trade also involving the Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets.
The Clippers sent point guard Mo Williams to the Jazz and the draft rights to Furkan Aldemir, the Clippers’ second round selection (53rd overall) in the 2012 NBA Draft to Houston while the Jazz conveyed the draft rights of Tadija Dragicevic, Utah’s second round pick (53rd overall) in the 2008 NBA Draft to Dallas.
To complete the trade, Dallas sent the draft rights of Shan Foster, the Mavericks’ second round selection (51st overall) in the 2008 NBA Draft to the Jazz with Houston sending cash considerations to Dallas.

HANG TIME CAPITAL BUREAU – The Brooklyn Nets are “very close” to acquiring six-time All-Star guard Joe Johnson from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for guards Jordan Farmar, Anthony Morrow and DeShawn Stevenson and centers Jordan Williams and Johan Petro, as well as a protected first-round pick that came from Houston, according to a league source.
Damn! Reggie is off to B-K-L-Y-N! I don't wanna hate him again but I'm now forced to at least 4 times a year.
I hate when team like the Nets can go from absolutely awful to a team with such promise, possibly even championship contention if they land D12, within such a short time period. And we continue to soak up the rays in the land of mediocrity! FML

Trade DeMar, Ed, Linas and let's get a superstar dammit!
