Default Official: Raps finish 12th - Was Lowry worth it?

With the late season push the Raptors saw their draft pick go from 8 to 12. The Sixers won the coin flip marking a two year losing streak for Toronto. In future years we should request a loonie be used as it appears the US coins are biased.

Four ties among teams that finished the 2012-13 NBA regular season with identical records were broken today through random drawings to help determine the order of selection for the 2013 NBA Draft, which will be held on Thursday, June 27.

The drawings were conducted earlier today in New York City by Jason Cahilly, NBA Executive Vice President, Strategy and Chief Financial Officer, and Dan Rube, NBA Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. The tiebreak process was overseen by Denise Pelli, a partner in the accounting firm of Ernst & Young.

    The results of the drawings:

Detroit (29-53) won a tiebreaker with Washington.
Philadelphia (34-48) won a tiebreaker with Toronto.
Houston (45-37) won a tiebreaker with Chicago and the L.A. Lakers; L.A. Lakers then won a tie-breaker with Chicago.
L.A. Clippers (56-26) won a tiebreaker with Memphis.

The Raptors have 7 of 1000 balls to get a top 3 pick. If they do not, pick goes to OKC. There is a 2.6% chance Toronto picks top 3.

So now that we know the lottery pick going to OKC via HOU is likely to be #12 and with one year of Lowry complete, what do you think of the trade now? Was Lowry worth the 12th pick in the 2013 draft?

Basketball has clear winners every night --
except at the draft, which is all homework, politics and chance.
