  • Sounds like Buycks won't be playing tonight. Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing him. He is there with the team in Vegas, perhaps it's an administrative thing. Maybe tmrw he suits up.

    • I think I'm more excited about Buycks than Stone. He might not be 6'6 but his a year young that Stone. One thing people over look is that his from Marquette. Marquette has low key become an NBA breeding grown. Think about Darius Johnson-Odom, Jae Crowder, Jimmy Butler, Wesley Matthews and Steve Novak. The latter of this players were underrated but, kept working and made themself respectful players. Thier all tough minded players that play thier asses off. Buzz Williams is doing an amazing job down there. For that I look forward to Dwight Buycks. I think he can make himself into a legit back up PG in this league.

        • So apparently, Stone didn't pass his physical, and his contract was voided...

Talks about getting Nate Robinson or Rodrigue Beaubois are back on as Raptors will NOT be signing Julyan Stone due to a failed physical.#RTZ

I can't find anything else that confirms it, or why he failed the physical.

          • He failed his physical..because he's not in good physical condition.

I know but I meant recently. Dwayne Wade that was a decade ago.

It's so fucking crazy that Dwyane Wade is older than Steve Novak, and i just realized that, boom, my head just exploded

                  • So what's the deal with Stone exactly? Is he not getting signed at all?

He failed his physical with the Raptors, so the deal was voided. At this point he's a free agent, but things don't look good for him if he can't stay in shape.

                      • Right, but is there any word on if the Raps are giving him a chance to shape up or whatever?

They said they might sign him again if he gets into better shape. Doesn't seem likely though.

correct me if i'm wrong but i remember Ujiri saying Stone was going to be used as a "defensive specialist". i think he'll be used more to create some havok on the other teams' guard play than actually playing pg.
                            Didn't Stone fail his physical?

I think Nate would be nice at backup PG, but we may have pay over the minimum for it. He made just over $1.1 million last year and will definitely be looking for a raise. He's worth it though. A guy that can come off the bench and provide instant offense. We all know Ross isn't at that stage yet.
And can also shoot you right out of a game. Like his years in NYC
