Since MLSE with TL on board seems to be throwing cash and titles at high profile staff, why not make a run at Brad Stevens of the Butler Bulldogs?

Would be a great assistant under Casey to learn the NBA ropes, then give the Head Coach job.

I'd just like to add that he's signed with Butler until the 2012-2022 season

If he has no out clause, maybe MLSE can buy Butler a new library or something. It's not a rich school!

But seriously, I guess he does have an out clause, otherwise UCLA would not have offered him a job a few months ago.

He also isn't likely to leave for an assistant's job, especially with a bad team.

We're talking about the NBA here, so I wouldn't make that assumption. Worth looking into, In any case.

Brad Stevens turned down the UCLA job recently which is a better gig than any NBA head coaching job.

hahahahahaha. College coaches are treated like gods on campus and in their community. If the NBA jobs were the pinacle of life, then why have guys like Coach K, Roy Williams, Tom Izzo, etc chosen to say in college? Better job security and (often times) equal pay.

Yet, many college coaches have come to the NBA. You don't know unless you make the offer.

Not many of the great ones. Other than Rick Pitino, most college hires are mid-level guys. Guys in the upper echelon of college coaching rarely make the jump. Much higher risk without much more reward.

Maybe Stevens could be convinced he's the next Pitino. Unlikely, maybe. Impossible? No. This is where a guy like TL and the deep pockets of MLSE can really pull something off.

You're right, what was thinking, he's got it too good to consider an NBA job.
