The Heat won in 2006 because of Shaq. Take Shaq out of the equation and insert anybody else and that team does not win it.

The heat have won 3 times. They may have had more players they drafted in '06.

        The Spurs are the spurs.

I actually asked how many who all starting five were drafted and remained their from the beginning to the year they won a championship..
sorry but thats a really fucking stupid question to ask. were you expecting the lack of teams being the answer as some sort of justification for not taking the draft as a serious source of talent or something?

And how many championship teams of the last ten years have won with their starting five drafted players?

San Antonio is one. Name others
That's a ridiculous extreme that you're asking for, it's such an anomaly for any championship team to have all their starters drafted since the late 80's on.

In the NBA as has been proven time and again your superstars are the most vital to your success, so start looking at teams that drafted their superstars. As well looking at only champions in the NBA is flawed because the NBA is all about dynasties, in fact the person you replied to even used the word "contenders" not "champions" because it's more appropriate.

If you only looked at champions in the 90's you'd have to come to the conclusion that everyone other than the Bulls and Rockets did it wrong.

Name one team that won with their starting five players being signed as free agents

Name one team that won with their starting fiver players being traded for

Just goes to show how unreliable everything is.

But, that's the goal isn't it? To win a championship? That's why Colangelo was fired..that's why all the previous guts were fired. They did it wrong.

Exactly. It's finding the right balance. So, you can't just rely on one thing like the draft. You can't just blow up the whole thing for the chance you get the number one pick and that will fix everything..

It's the goal, yes. But it's not the bar for success.

The Pacers are a success. The Thunder are a success. The Clippers are a success. But only the Heat are champions this year.

But the thing you're overlooking is that EVERY one of the teams that won a championship (other than the last Pistons) won with one of their superstars being drafted. Wade, Kobe, Pierce, Duncan, Hakeem, Jordan, Isiah, Bird, Magic.

I'd guess that every one of the teams they faced in the finals also had at least one superstar they drafted as well.

I know that. But, posters on here seem to think that..they seem to think that we have to blow everything up and stArt over because this isn't a championship team..

Only one I can think of who did not was 93 suns who traded for Barkley

no one here ACTUALLY thinks that magically drafting wiggins will win you an automatic championship. its the people who don't know how to argue that try to *presume* thats all pro-tankers think about because its such an easy/simplistic/naive idea to discredit.
