Lay off Landry Fields. He's the Raps best perimeter defensive player by a mile. And he's another one of those guys that i feel like they're misusing.
the only times hes been 'useful' is whenever they just throw him in the starting lineup against the knicks. other than that, theres really no 'misusing' a player that just sucks whether its due to injury or otherwise.

Landry Fields has got to be in Masai's cross hairs. For a GM like MU, the Fields contract has got to be keeping him up at night.

Not really, no. Fields has a bad contract, but not a historically bad contract: $6.25 million is only about $4m over what he's really worth right now, and it's only for one more year after this one so it's not even a long overpaid contract. He had an awful season last year in part because of an undiagnosed injury, which everybody knows, so if he plays even tolerably well on offense this year he instantly becomes tradeable because his defense and floor knowledge are quite good (and he's got a good locker room rep) and everybody knows that too.

Basically; without his shot, Fields is a $1-2m player being paid 6. If he finds his shot again, he's a $4m player being paid 6, which is far from the worst overpay in the world. If he regains his rookie form then he's actually maybe worth the 6.

And for all we give props to Masai, let us remember it was Masai who resigned Javale McGee to $44 million over four years. Masai makes mistakes just like everybody else does, and Fields isn't nearly as bad a mistake as McGee.

If Landry can regain anything close to his old shot success he is a nice player to have. He moves well off the ball, rebounds very well for a wing and is a solid defender.

No doubt. This poison pill shit must've been on his mind since day 1. As much as I lauded the Fields signing from the get-go, I hate it from a financial standpoint.

Okay, perhaps my "keeping him up at night" comment was a bit over the
