Yeah, i'm not arguing (re draftexpress and Parker), just noting. They are low-ish on Parker. I can't even remember them having Parker in the top 3, maybe they did early in the season.

That said, Parker being ranked at no.6 with all his hype -- kind of shows the depth of that draft.

What do you all think about the Canadians in this class? (obviously other than Wiggins)

Ennis is already rated in the top 20 and he's going to a great program in Cuse, he could turn out to be one of the better PG's come draft time.

As for XRM, he's slipped quite a bit over the last year in terms of highschool rankings, but he's a scorer. Needs to expand/improve his offensive repertoire, like ball handling, but I could see him slipping into the draft.

The fact that Exum COULD be available in this draft just make this draft class a whole lot deeper.

Exum is my fave prospect in this draft behind Wiggins. And you haven't seen him play, you're missing out. I think he's the 3rd best player in this draft just behind Wiggins and Parker.

As for Canadians in this draft. Do you guys think Ennis is a 1st round talent? what about Kevin Pangos?

I'm glad someone put this thread together because outside of the general consensus that this is going to be a strong draft I would like to see what people say in particular about some of the "top 8" projected talent.

Wiggins is talked about a lot, so I won't go there, but what makes Randle or Parker so special? From what I can see at DraftExpress Randle is not very fundamentally sound at defense. Isn't that a big red flag for a guy who would be an 'elite' PF in the league?

As for Parker, DE has him at 6th. They indicate that he's gained weight and had struggle losing it. Don't like the sounds of that. Is he going to end up being a tweener like Derrick Williams? I'm always afraid of guys like that in the NBA.

Gordon is another name I hear a lot about.. aka Griffin 2.0. But I don't think Griffin is really that good of a player. How is Gordon at the mid-range game? Can he shoot free throws? What about his defense? The kid is only 17 and if he's a 1 and done player is he going to be sound fundamentally enough to be able to improve in the NBA? And how long will it take him to no longer have that project label attached to his name?

What intrigues me the most about this draft are the number of PG's that are projected at the top half of the draft. That's especially important to me as I don't see Lowry as the guy that can get us over the top. Exum looks very promising and Smart was intriguing going into the last draft. Since most teams in the league already have their PG of the future, It's nice to know that a PG might slip in the draft if Toronto does not end up in the top 8.

Way too early to be dismissing these players based on defensive fundamentals. Dwight had very limited defensive fundamentals at that age. Anthony Davis had a year in college and he jumps at every fake. I expect the same from Nerlens Noel during the first few years. At this stage, got to judge more by physical talent and ability to move, vision, touch, character and natural instincts. We will see how they develop during their college year.

Re Blake Griffin, of course he is a very good player. People are just focused on his flaws because his highlights are so hyped up and on TV all the time. It was the same with Vince after the first several years.

Ennis may be a first round talent two or three years from now. Pangos is a very good college point guard likely to play overseas.

Pangos was touted as the next Steve Nash a few years ago

I don't think either XRM or Ennis will be one-and-dones. Both are probably in a situation where they'd get drafted a lot higher if they wait a year and enter in 2015. Only other freshmen I've been following at all are Notice and Duvuvier, and they've got a long road to go to get their value up.
Both Powell and Birch should go in the late first or early second. I really like Birch and think he'll find a solid role as a defensive specialist and rebounder. Powell needs more weight on his frame to play as a big in the NBA, but there's enough skill there to get a look. Ejim and Rivard are both seniors who could play their way into getting a look, but it's a long shot for either of them. Pangos and Hanlan are the other two guys who have a chance. I don't see either of them declaring for this draft.
