  • A tiny piece of Q-Rich contract/cap trivia, via Shamsports

Nobody was expecting Q-Rich to be a rotation player or anything this season, but I thought there was at least a possibility he'd make the roster as a 15th man or something. But apparently the 2nd and 3rd years of his contract become fully guaranteed if he's still on the team on January 1st, 2014. So it's pretty safe to say he'll be waived before then.

Wow, didn't know that about the other years becomes guaranteed. Yeah, see him as gone. Pretty much assumed he'd be gone, but that they'd be in no rush to do it. As in, keep him until the trade deadline in case you need a little filler and waive him after. Now even that is pretty damn unlikely

So worst case he is waived in December and the raptors can pick up some waived scrub for depth if needed

that is cool news.... i assumed we'd be on the hook for 4.5 for 3 years after the sign+trade which isn't exactly a burden but to have the option of clearing that in season one makes the overall Bargs deal look even better

The worst part about the Q-Rich trade is that it gave us a hard cap for this season.

Because we did a sign and trade, we cannot exceed the tax threshold (about 71M) this year.

The apron. We cannot exceed the apron, 75.6M.
