Wonder if MU arranged this? I saw an article where MU & Hakeem were together this month in Africa for BB without Borders camps and the Africa fiba tournament. He was gushing about Hakeem.

Do you think its worth the effort for such a skinny guy to brush up on post moves with Hakeem? Bulk is needed to hold that position I have learned from experience.

I doubt you'll see much of Daye trying to post up bulkier guys than him, but that doesn't mean Hakeem couldn't teach him technique against slighter SFs or even some of the slight backup PFs in the league. He could also be teaching him defensive techniques.

I agree. People seem to forgot that The Dr34m is the all time leaders in blocked shots. In Daye's pic on IG it shows the plack.

Good stuff! at least he has some fire in him, and isnt just in Toronto to ride the bench and get paid.

Yea how do you know that Demar is working out with Hakeem as well? I haven't seen him post anything on instagram or twitter.

Even wing players can learn from Hakeem's masterful footwork.

Rudy posted on FB that DeMar was with him to see Hakeem but maybe he's not there my bad!

Either way its good to see the #1 option refine his offensive skill set.

    Hakeem has a group rate

Wonder if the Raps pay for it (the CBA would have to sanction it probably).

I recall when Daye was drafted by the Pistons they thought he'd be a Prince clone...and Prince was a good post up player. Obviously you dont want to take on a much heavier player in the post...but then good deceptive footwork can be the equalizer in those situations.

With Daye being as lean as he is, how is his speed? Does he have hops? like a Jamario Moon type?

No, he's a lanky finesse type player, long arms, a jump shot, and not much d.

His actually a good shot blocker. His not that athletic but extremely fluid for a 6-11 player.

AD averaged 0.4 blocks per game last year, 0.5 for Daye's career. Kyle Lowry averaged the same 0.4 bpg last year.

I don't know why people don't look at minutes when they come up with this stuff. Daye's average, btw, was .5 last year (not .4), but that's in 10 minutes average vs Kyle's 30. Daye's per 36 average was 1.5. Considering the sparse, and very inconsistent, minutes, that's not bad.

    0.4 bpg in 2012-13 ESPN- http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3976/austin-daye

    0.4 bpg in 2012-13 at nba.com- http://www.nba.com/playerfile/austin....html?nav=page

Daye is more likely to play 10 mpg than 36 mpg this year.
