      Hopefully we start the season with an easy schedule. These young guys need the confidence boost

        November is just brutal. Back part of December is pretty stacked as well. Not looking like an easy 1st half..

          No brutal West coast roadtrip early on thankfully. Hardest part is definitely December 20 till January 7th. @ Dallas, OKC, SA, NY, home against NY, @ Chicago, home vs Indiana, @ Washington, Miami, Indiana. That's 9 tough games in a row.

            Damn. First two months:

            Chicago x3
            Miami x2
            San Anton/OKC
            Houston x2
            Brooklyn/Indiana/Denver/Memphis/GState

              I always felt that MU will use the first 20 games as a barometer on whether he will blow the team up or keep going with what he has. Seems like the schedule is not so bad this year.. by my estimate they should have a 9-11 record (of course this is just a wild prediction and anything can change):

              Boston - W
              @Atlanta - L
              @Milwaukee -W
              Miami - L
              @Charlotte - W
              @Indiana - L
              Utah - W
              @Houston - L
              @Memphis - L
              Chicago - L
              Portland - W
              @Philadelphia -W
              Washington - L
              Brooklyn - L
              Miami - L
              Denver - W
              @Golden State - L
              @Phoenix - W
              @LAL - W
              San Antonio - L

              If the team is 9-11 by the 20 game mark, I will assume MU will not tank. If they lose some of those gimmies though (Utah/Charlotte/Phoenix/Philly) and still lose against the harder teams (Miami twice, SA, Chicago, Indiana, GSW, Houston) then I would assume the tank watch will start.

                So, we've all mostly agreed that the first 20 or 30 games will determine whether or not the team decides to make a run or tank this season. And the first 26 games, which take us through to Christmas, are:

                1. Host Boston
                2. At Atlanta
                3. At Milwaukee
                4. Host Miami
                5. At Charlotte
                6. At Indiana
                7. Host Utah
                8. At Houston
                9. At Memphis
                10. Host Chicago
                11. Host Portland
                12. At Philly
                13. Host Washington
                14. Host Brooklyn
                15. Host Miami
                16. Host Denver
                17. At Golden State
                18. At Phoenix
                19. At the Lakers
                20. Host San Antonio
                21. Host Philly
                22. At Chicago
                23. Host Charlotte
                24. At Dallas
                25. At OKC
                26. At San Antonio
                That takes us through to D

                By my count that's

                - Nine games we're more likely to win (two each against Charlotte and Philly, plus one each against Boston, Phoenix, Milwaukee, Utah and the Lakers)

                - Five games that are even/tossups (Atlanta, Washington, Portland, Denver and Dallas)

                - Twelve games we're more likely to lose (two each against the Spurs, Heat, and Bulls, plus one each against the Nets, Paces, Grizzlies, Thunder, Rockets and Warriors)

                Based on that, I think if by Christmas the Raps aren't at least 14-12 it's time to start seriously considering the tank. The big question is how well we perform against the middle, the teams that are fighting for playoff slots rather than having them in the bag. Shame we don't have any early games against Cleveland or Detroit - and only one against Washington - but on the other hand by December we'll know how good Cleveland and Detroit are.

                    Wow, the Heat have an 11 game stretch from November 9th going Celtics, Bucks, Mavericks, at Bobcats, Hawks, at Magic, Magic, Suns, at Cavaliers, at Raptors, Bobcats. Talk about an easy opening schedule.

                                Gonna do this for fun. Gonna assume we lose every game to teams clearly better than us, win against teams clearly worse and win at home vs. even teams and lose on road vs. even teams. Let's estimate our trade deadline record (for convenience sake let's say the deadline is Feb 19th same as this year).

                                OCT/NOV:
                                vs. BOS: W
                                @ ATL: L

                                Ouch... No chance of tank and likely outside looking in on playoffs.
