      I'll settle for Randle though.
That might not turn out to be settling, a lot of people think he might end up going #1 over Wiggins.

The first year the Raptors played was 1995-96.

I have a feeling that in 2004/2005 the 10th year celebrations feel under such sales campaign pushes as Young Gunz/Onez. They were heading in to a sh!tty year and needed to hype something.

          And CRF birthday nails it.

          You are right though.

Raps need to bring these colours back.

Are they basing that on all the new information that came to light during the 0 NCAA games both have played these past few weeks.

              Gotta love the internet age.

Definitely a sign that the NBA is setting us up to draft a potential superstar (i.e. wiggins?). We can't headline the ASG without a superstar (as much as I like JV, I don't think he'll ever reach superstar status).

My guess is the same type of information that led to a lot if high school lottery picks years past.

                  Talent is talent.

Now with a year of NCAA ball they have nowhere to go but down - so I think do have a really good point there.

I disagree with this (but I also disagree on the conspiracy theory idea that one man is playing billionaires for fools and risked tarnishing his reputation, employment and freedom to build up the league through some sort of bizarre socialist coup to send potential great players to destinations he deemed the best for the league, but that's neither here or there). The reason I disagree is that it doesn't matter where Wiggins goes, unless he has an injury that keeps him out for the year he will be guaranteed to show up to the ASG as a rookie contestant at the very least, giving the ASG to Toronto almost ensures that Canadians get to see Wiggins play on one of the days and more than likely force Wiggins to take part in the Slam Dunk contest.

Toronto gets their all-star game, so no more having to hear about that for the next 15 years; Canada gets to watch it's Great North Hype in Wiggins at the Rookie game; Wiggins, even if he had no plans to, will almost be forced into the Dunk Contest; cue the ratings boost for All-Star Friday and Saturday. It's win-win-win-win as far the NBA sees it.

Really? Even if they cost $300-$500, which I'm sure they will(just for the cheap seats)?

I mean, I might pay $80-$100 tops to see the SnoozeFest... err Slam Dunk contest, but I'd rather just catch the game on my 60".

It's gonna be amazing to have the city spotlighted in a fashion we haven't seen in a lonnnnnnnnnng time, if ever!

Ya by the time ASG rolls around that'll be a good 4 months after TIFF, and by then people will have forgotten about Caribbana or the Pride Parade.

Yes, you can look at it that way. But, there's another perspective where you can go to it and say you were there..Yes, you're dishing out the dough, but it's a one time thing..I'm never going to go to another one and I'm not going to spend that type of money ever again..carpe diem

Those events, while big in our city, are not broadcast all over the States for 3 days. Likely with some sporting history stories and what-not to go along with them.

All Star games are a big deal in the States....I was in Minneapolis during 1991 MLB all-star break and Toronto was all over the US TV and press. It is a huge deal....
