    Default Improve our bench MIL+Cavs+OKC

    Vazquez for G. Neal

    Novak for A. Gee

    Salmons for Perkins + Dal 1st (prtoected 1-20 2014-17, unprotected 2018)

All 3 players coming in have their contracts ending next year. Gee's is unguaranteed next year. All good solid vets that fit a role and we get the 1st rounder MU has been looking for without touching the young core of the team

    Starters

    PG- K-Low
    SG/SF- Derozan
    SG/SF- Ross
    PF- Amir
    C- JV

    Bench

    PG/SG- Neal
    SG/SF- Gee
    PF/C- Patterson/Hansbrough
    C- Perkins

    I don't see a real upgrade anywhere.

Neal is a shooter who can't run an offence. And Novak is a shooting specialist we already have.

Gee is worse than Salmons in every way except age.

Perkins is not an upgrade over Hansbrough. Perkins is barely an uprade over me...and only because he's tall.

The only good part of this deal is the Dallas 1st rounder....but there's no way in hell OKC gives it up for Salmons.

Lateral moves at best, and unlikely in general. Personally I think we lose a lot on O, where Vasquez and Salmons are unspectacular but play quite well within the team game. Doesn't improve our bench D or O....Turrible all around except for the draft pick.

Oh it's definitely not tenforthewin bad.

I'd say on it's own, there's some merit to the Salmons idea. OKC could use some depth at wing, and the bonus of being able to cut Perkins' salary going forward. But still, I can't see Toronto having interest in the deal without the pick, and I can't see OKC giving up that pick, even to help shed Perkins, without getting something better in return. Maybe Perkins and a 2nd rounder would work....but then Toronto needs bench help at the wing.
