  • SI's All-NBA NFL Roster - 1 Raptor made the cut

If you were going to build an NFL team using NBA players, who would you choose? SI's Point Forward did just that and 1 Raptor made the list (pretty good considering they just named starters, no depth guys). So who is it?

    http://nba.si.com/2014/01/22/all-gri...a-players-nfl/

Tyler Hansbrough made the team as an outside linebacker due to his combination of toughness and motor. He joined Metta World Peace and Reggie Evans to form the LB corps (4-3 Defence was used).

    What about the other Raps?
Demar would certainly seem to have the size and skill to be an elite WR (although you can't argue against the SI choices of Paul George and Kwahi Leonard).
Lowry would be a good fit as a hard hitting safety or even a RB.
JV and Amir would be undersized on either line (although JV will still fill out a bit more), so maybe a TE role.
Ross would be a good fit for either CB or WR.
Chuck Hayes would be a good fit as an interior lineman (Guard or Center) or as a D-lineman.

I definitely like the idea of Ross as a CB.

Could definitely see Chuck as a linebacker.

Does DeRozan have the foot speed to be an elite wide out? I can't see him out-running most DBs in a 40yd sprint.

IMO, John Wall and Tony Parker would make elite receivers. Lightning quickness combined with soft hands.

All of our players are either too tall, or too skinny, but i see Chuck playing in the offensive line, he's strong, a pretty low centre of gravity, his chubbiness would be an added plus in that position, lowry could play a fullback/runningback position and Ross could manage as a cornerback or a wide receiver because of his explosive athleticism, but almost every other player on the team probably dont have the right physical tools to compete in thw NFL

Depends, if the DB is 6' or smaller (like many actual NFL DB's), does Demar have to out-run them for 40 yards? Demar isn't the best NBA choice for the cross-over, but for a Raptors centralized team, WR would be the natural fit.

Parker and Wall are both good choices. (Wall made the SI team as slot receiver).

Alright, let's pencil in DeRozan as a 3rd down receiver in red zone formations only

                Corner flag pattern jump balls.

Ross would be a great CB or even receiver, he reminds me of Reggie Wayne. Steve Novak is our field goal kicker.

Aaron Gray would've made a perfect offensive lineman

I didn't like their pick of WRs. They didn't mention speed once in that paragraph. Also, Lebron has to be used more effectively than at TE. In the NFL, yes that's where he'd go, but on that team? He's gotta be the QB. great opportunity for scrambles, incredible vision.
                        "Bruno?
Heh, if he is in the D-league still in a few years I will be surprised.
                        He's terrible."

Don't see how you could disagree with Paul George at all. Size, speed, hands, athleticism.

Kwahi might not be the first name that comes to mind but he is definitely the right mix of size, hands and demeanour for the flank.

As Nilanka said previously, Wall's agility and hands would make him great in the slot.

Lots of guys would have good skill cross-over, but who would you put in there and who would you remove?

LeBron makes sense at TE because if he ever does play in the NFL it would likely be TE. He'd be impossible to cover. Realistically though, LeBron has proven that he could likely succeed at any position. Dude is that athletically gifted. He'd be devastating as a pass rusher.
