He's a guy that went from being a starter and MIP, to a starter on another team, lost his starting role, got traded and became a backup. He moved from NO, to Sacramento, to Toronto, all in less than a season.
To hear him say he's having fun in Toronto, I think speaks volumes about the situation and atmosphere on the Raptors. I'm sure lots of players in his situation (especially with the perceived 'dreaded' move to Toronto) would be sulking and looking forward to getting out of town.
1) He fits better with this team
2) He's younger
3) He's not a magnet for controversies
4) He doesn't wind down the shot clock
5) He balances his passing/shooting
I don't think the two can be compared at least at the moment. Jose is a much superior PG.
Attitude Is A Choice.
Not really worth a new thread, but Vasquez is going to be on Fan590 in 25 minutes. Out of town go to fan590.com and hit listen live...Not sure I'm going to listen, just a heads up.
Calderon for short term. Vasquez long term. Also to take into consideration, Vasquez's salary is significantly less.
Vasquez has played a crucial role in our team's success, and this is all because he has accepted his role as a backup player.
Jose will always be cherished in our hearts, but so long as Mr. Kyle Lowry is running the show, I like having the general coming off the bench and giving our MVP some rest. He's young, aggressive, knows his role, and is playing within the team. You can't ask for more
