I would love to be in the room when Masai picks up that phone call.

      Priceless.

I love that we finally have a GM who is okay with waiting. He waits for what he wants, and if it isn't offered, he doesn't accept. Patience is a virtue, and Masai is virtuous!

A lot of NBA writers I really enjoy can't seem to shake the idea that Lowry is possibly on the move.

Is there a serious case of denial going on? Can they not adapt to new information/circumstances/situations?

Anyways, the latest is Sam Amico: http://msn.foxsports.com/ohio/story/...com:hoopsonfox

Or is it really where there is smoke there is fire?
Or is it really where one guy writes an intriguing, semi-intelligent and plausible piece, half a dozen other writers try to jump on the wagon as it goes by.

As a sidenote, Anthony Bennett has 19 points and 10 rebounds tonight and is playing really great, the best in a recent series of well-played games. We really should've traded for him a month ago.

Was he on the market? No. So why even bring it up? Who could we have traded for him even if he was?

Agreed, there's no way in hell a GM is going to give up on a number 1 pick after 20 or so games unless they get an offer they possibly can't refuse, even with a player as bad as Bennett.

Well obviously it COULD have been!

                  Anyways:

Houston sends: Jeremy Lin, Donatas Motiejunas, and Robert Covington
Toronto sends: Steve Novak, Greivis Vasquez, Tyler Hansbrough and Austin Daye

Houston gets rid of Lin's poison-pill contract and picks up Vasquez, the original Mr. Assist, for a team that's fifth-last in assist rate in the NBA and needs a pass-first PG desperately, plus they get Hansbrough (a foul-drawing specialist big) and two shooters. Toronto gets the bench scorer they need who can work with Lowry much the same way Vasquez did, except Lin is better, as well as picking up D-Mo to replace Hansbrough and who should play well alongside Jonas.
ACC will be sold out like every night, guaranteed -- if this ever happens.
“I don’t create controversies. They’re there long before I open my mouth. I just bring them to your attention.”

I think the two guys most likely to get traded are Psycho T and Vasquez. For what? No idea. A nice big expiring?
                    What is the point?
Vasquez in a RFA anyway. Greatly reduces our change to making it out of first round.

The Lakers already have to pay Nash $9.7M next year, and they have holes at nearly every position. I don't think it's a forgone conclusion they even make an offer to Lowry, let alone a $9M per year offer. Does LA want $18.7M tied up in the PG position, when the only other player under contract is Kobe at $23.5M? I think they'll spend money on C, PF, and SF before they spend it on PG.
Also, Marshall has played reasonably well since signed. Little "tutoring" by Nash & he might actually be a solid PG.
Another PG at 8-11 mil per -definately not a priority.

                      • Lowry for Thompson and Barnes ???

(not sure how trustworthy this is)

Would you do this? I mean talent-wise you can't ask for anything more than this, but would it work chemistry-wise? Do we want Vazquez to be our PG in the playoffs with Stone backing him up? Definitely would be interesting though.

2 great, young assets for one vet unproven PG? Not happening.

Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes. Yes, I think you have to make this trade if it is possible. But who gets to start then? Vasquez, DD, and Thompson, with Barnes and Ross coming off the bench? That would be sick. Draft Ennis and then we have the foundation for something special!

Article is line most articles these days: piecing together numerous articles based off one original article.

I don't think Thompson AND Barnes would be on the table. But if they were, yeah, gotta take that.

At one point I would have been all over Barnes but now not so sure.... at least on the offensive end; defense I have not seen him play enough to be honest.

Again, unless an incredible offer, I'm inclined to keep roster/team as is. Let them play it out, they've earned it. Off season is a different story though.

                              • That would destroy chemistry and clog up the sg position. Forget the fact that Vasquez is not a starter on any self respecting team Clay, DD and Ross play the same position. Unless Barnes plays the 4, he gets less play time in this scenario. His struggles are likely tied to play time -- so the Raps should create a situation which makes his struggles worse? (sarcasm)
