When he's shooting that badly, isn't 28% usage a bad thing?
54% TS is shooting badly now? It's what DD has in his best ever season. 54-55% is average - and if you can get average efficiency on high volume (high usage) that's very valuable.

In 12 games this month, 5 times he's shot below 35%. In my opinion, the concern is for the downward trend, more than anything.

          • No but by keeping his dribble alive Ala Mr Nash it opens the floor for many different type of opportunities. Mr Armstrong alluded to that during the broadcast

Well, to be honest was his 42% run sustainable? That would have been top 6 in the NBA last year.
But not this year. There's like 35 guys shooting over 40% on 3's (min 2 3pa/g). That might become the future norm for somebody to be labelled a good 3-pt shooter.

                • Nice to see Lowry's game coming back around after a December dip - a lot of numbers coming back up and he looks better on the court. DRTG still sliding though (106.4 in Jan, was 99.5 in Nov.) and 3 PT% too (42% in Nov, 34.2% in Dec., 31.6% in Jan). He needs to stop taking those quick pull-up 3's - those are bad shots and usually there are no rebounders in position. The Raps are a good rebounding team and you're missing out on that strength with those quick shots.

List of NBA players currently averaging at least 20/5/5:
                  Lebron James
                  Steph Curry
                  James Harden
                  Russel Westbrook
                  Blake Griffin
                  Kyle Lowry
"We're playing in a building." -- Kawhi Leonard

Those YOLO 3's seem to be a new NBA trend, because it's working for Steph Curry.

It's like the trend of guards taking fade away mid range post up 3s because Dirk and Kobe made it work. The greatest players can do things that others can't, the rest of the league just has to accept it.

If anyone but Curry tries it, they'll be disappointed. It is still a bad shot for Curry, but hey, he knows how to make them.
