"The two highest premiums for the post-season are Pacers tickets and Raptors tickets, at 211% and 242% respectively. The Raptors not only have the highest premium of any team in the playoffs, but also the highest ticket price. They also have the 3rd lowest quantity on the secondary market, with just 2,261 tickets available across the secondary market. For Raptors fans, it’s the first time since the 2007-08 season that they’ve made the playoffs. If they can get past the first round, it would be the first time they’ve done that since 2000-2001 when they beat the Knicks. With the Maple Leafs out of the NHL playoffs, to the chagrin of Toronto sports fans, come next week, the Raptors will be the only game in town."

After not seeing any notification of playoff ticket sales on Raptors.com/FB page or RR (SO ANGRY)...this is good timing. Now to try and convince my father-in-law to go half after he just got a $400 water bill (partly my fault lol)
How the heck did you manage a $400 water bill!?! Working at BMO I see some of the weirdest bills man. I've seen folks with like $900 Rogers cable bills, not Internet overage, or cellphone use, just cable...and not with a carry over balance from the previous statement either.

I wonder if the Raptors play Nets first round, maybe we'll have some interest. I also think MLSE should drop the prices down a tad bit if we were to play the B**bcats or wizards, but what do I know!

The majority of our money comes from Concert Tickets. Usually we target only the 1st and 2nd lower sections as those fetch the most decent profit.

On very hot events though, like One Direction 2 years ago. (Bought a pair of Center floor row 2 for $300, sold for $2750 per ticket).

Sports are usually not hot for the regular season for all sports except NFL. A lot of the cheap tickets you see on Stubhub during the regular season are from Season Seat holders and not Brokers.

Only when it comes to the NBA finals, NHL Finals, Superbowl, the tickets are grab-what-you-can, and are guaranteed major profit.
Usually Round 1/2 are not profitable enough for any sporting events unless it's like Heat vs Pacers Game 1, or OKC/LAC Game 1.

US Open Tennis is usually always a big profit no matter what day you buy and sell tickets for. Obviously the final day is the biggest profit, but even Day 1 cheap tix ($300 ea.) have fetched us $650 per. We got a single cheap ticket last year for the final day for $500 and sold it for about $1250
Stuff like this drives me crazy. I would have no problem with MLSE or ticketmaster charging these prices as the money spent would support the people who deserve it. Not to call you out or anything, but why should your company profit so much money off of someone else's hard work? If I pay for tickets, I expect a large portion of it to go to players, bands, entertainers etc. I can't believe ticket distribution companies haven't input auctions yet for tickets. Seems stupid to give all that profit to a broker (fancy name for scalper). Also, it takes advantage of the average fan who may try to buy tickets at their ACTUAL cost only to lose out to a broker and be forced to pay premiums. Unless auctions are put in place where brokers have to pay way more and absolve way more risk, re-selling above face value should always be illegal in my opinion.
There's math, and everything else is debatable.

              Hello everyone!

I'm finally a member of RR, after reading this forum and website thoroughly, daily, since 2007. A bit about myself, I am a huge Raptor fan, favourite Raptors of all time include, Oak, Amir, DD and TJ Ford...oh and wince! Further, I am a fanatic Spurs fan, I love me some Timmy, Kawhi, Bruce and Pop, (yes it was awkward when Bowen played dirty on VC) anyways, I'm glad to be here, and looking forward to some great basketball debates.

However, for now.. I wanted to let everyone here know, I am selling a pair of Raptors playoff tickets to game 2. Unfortunately me and my fiancé both will not be able to attend this game, but we will be at Game 1.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to shoot me a message or reply here. I'm in Mississauga/Brampton region.

Tickets details: SECTION 109M, Row 27, Seats 5 & 6. Dates are still yet to determined, and same goes for the opponent, which I'm sure everyone here knows all about.

We paid $723 on the dot through ticketmaster at the pre sale last week.

I'm not in it to make money, though everyone advises me to do just that... I would rather have a fan of the game and team enjoy this game on our behalf for the price they are worth.

Ps; what ever happened to that star news article about MLSE having tickets for playoff games at an extremely low price... Like that was actually going to happen. Lol

Anyways, I apologize for any typos.
Is there another die-hard Raps fan that wants to split these tickets with me?

I wouldnt be surprised if it was close to the average. When the wife and I was living on our own, we were around $175. Now that we've moved in with the in-laws, $400 isnt too crazy (4ppl) when its a big family with visitors over almost every day.

Raps released a block of last minute tickets a few hours ago. Sorry I didn't post as soon as I got the email. Maybe there are tickets left.

Yes, there are tickets available...at least when I looked last night. However, they were cheaper when a310pilot bought them.

Hopefully there's another die-hard fan out there that wants to sit close and only needs a single...

Stubhub! Just bought them this morning. I figure resellers will be dropping prices the closer it got to tip off.
