Just before disappearing into the tunnel, a few fans also threw their towels at him. Pierce caught all of them, saying "thank you, thank you" with a big smile on his face. It was really funny to see. That's the playoffs folks... the whole team has a f**k Brooklyn attitude, can't hate the fans for feeling the same way.

Here's my observation - some fans are reserved for the most part but when the mob mentality kicks in here at (#WeTheNorth), things get out of hand (see Vancouver Stanley Cup finals riot). SMH.
Pierce was probably like "here's a fuckin souvenir, I'm clutch and I just beat your shitty team, like i've done my whole career"
Did you see him taunting the crowd as he walked out?

Balls of Steel wrote: View PostThe problem with some TO fans is they get into this inferiority complex mode against the "big, bad Americans" and it makes them behave like irrational douches.
And yes, throwing the headband back does say something. It lets the other players know that TO is gonna be a very inhospitable place to play, the fans all want you to fail, no one here holds you on a pedestal no matter who you are and the entire arena / city has the Raptor's backs 100%
Right now isn't the time to be rolling out the red carpet for opposing players on their way out. Maybe after the series is done but for now, it's war <-- you either get this or you don't

Balls of Steel wrote: View PostFunny how you completely ignored the earlier points I made. I guess it made to much sense for you. Sensitive? I think tossing headbands and the chest thumping makes you and others sensitive. I'm just a dude that follows this game and then leaves it at that afterwards. You've just displayed the classic inferiority complex right there. Closing the case.
lol so I have an inferiority complex against those big bad Americans? wait, Im from Canada, doesn't that make me an American too?
Seriously though, PP just torched the Raps, we lose our first playoff game since 'x-amount of years', we lose at the ACC and lose homecourt advantage...and then the very guy who beat our team gets his headband thrown back and you say "hmmmm that's odd" or "typical inferiority complex those damn Canadians"
When it comes to sports and losing any game in the playoffs - yes, I, and any true sports fan are somewhat sensitive. But you, well you bring a whole new different kind of sensitivity to the table - that, uber-sensitive, Mr.Political Correct kind of sensitive. Listen, there will always be a mob mentality with fans watching pro sports, in the ACC, at MSG, at Barclay Center ...anywhere, any city, any team PERIOD. That intensity you see on the court ALWAYS makes its way to the stands and as I said earlier, those fans are going to show support 100% and it has nothing to do with an inferiority complex (well not with me at least). Chest bumping, as you call it, is a part of pro sports. Always has been, always will be.
The fan could have done it your way and hugged PP while whispering "you played swell" in his ear but to me there's something wrong with that picture.Last edited by OldSchool; Fri Apr 25, 2014, 02:45 AM.
