  • Eye of the beholder

I don't support what the man said, in fact I think he's a hypocritical bigot, but I do support his right to say it.

This whole thing, him being forced out, it's just an illustration of the fact that freedom is just an illusion:

He wouldn't sell to a black man.

            • Sterling does make a good point ... apparently he was in the middle of negotiating a deal with FOX, similar to the $3B deal the Lakers signed. Even that deal were worth half the Lakers, that still makes the team MUCH more valuable to anybody who owns them. What needs to be considered, is it the Bids from Ballmer etc. included any future media rights.

              • So it looks like Donald loses his appeal and thus loses the team. Hopefully now this fucker will fade out of the NBA world and we won't have to deal with his insanity ever again.

A judge ruled in favor of Shelly Sterling on all three counts, rejecting virtually all of Donald Sterling's arguments in the probate trial in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The ruling included the extraordinary step of granting Shelly Sterling’s request for an order that allows the sale to be completed regardless of an appellate court’s intervention.

Judge Michael Levanas also ruled that Shelly Sterling acted properly when two doctors declared her husband mentally incapacitated in May under terms of the Sterling Family Trust before she proceeded to agree to sell the Clippers to Steve Ballmer.

The sale of the Clippers to Ballmer will proceed.

Yeah he would, he just wouldn't take the black man out to dinner with his gold digging girlfriend who played him like a fool.

                  • NBA is suing Sterling! Ha.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver just reminded Donald Sterling that his ongoing battle to block the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers is costing the league a ton of money, and ultimately ... it's coming out of his ass.

The league filed a countersuit against Sterling yesterday, and in the docs -- obtained by TMZ Sports -- it points out Sterling's initial agreement to sell the team to Steve Ballmer included a provision that indemnified the league from future claims brought by him, Shelly Sterling, or the Clippers.

In other words, if the sale went awry, and anyone wanted to block it -- the league would not have to foot the bill for legal fees. The countersuit makes it clear ... the league expects Donald to pay up.

Interesting that the league included that provision in the sale. League Commissioner Adam Silver obviously expected a fight from Donald.

According to the docs, the league's already racked up hefty expenses, which continue to mount. They're suing Donald and the Sterling Family Trust to get that money back.
