If you want to talk about TR%, Hansbrough is #10 among all power forwards, Johnson comes in at #40. But Amir is #6 in TS%, Hansbrough #24. Johnson, Hansbrough, and Patterson rank #23, #24, #25 in defensive rating. Steve Novak is #1 in offensive rating, Tyler is #11 (RealGM player stats).
I cherry-picked the advanced stats, but it is fun to see how our guys stack up against the rest of the league. They do not point to Amir Johnson as among the league leaders, except for one category. Still, that does not mean he has not been highly valuable to the Raptors.
Tyler, on the other hand, is among the leaders in OR%, TR%, eDiff, and ORtg. That means he should be a valuable bench player for the Raptors or many other teams. In my opinion, he needs to play at least 11 minutes in a game, every game, to really be effective, however.

Also, check out his performance as a starter for Indiana.

Overall, the team won 66% of its games during that stretch (41W, 21L), but when he was injured in January, the team went 8-6.

In this article about Ross mimicking Derozan there is a gem at the end that I'm quite looking forward to!

In an empty corner of the Fortius Sport & Health gymnasium on Wednesday, Patrick Patterson dropped a bombshell on Wednesday.
“Tyler [Hansbrough] has added the three into his game,” Patterson said. “All last season I think he only took one or two. We can look forward to him stepping out into the corner and having that spread feel, me and him, allowing Kyle [Lowry] to do whatever he wants to do.”
For the record, Hansbrough took two three-pointers last year, missing both. In fact, he is 0-for-12 for his career. This will be a delightful journey.

It's not that far-fetched. The guy shot .391 from three in his senior year at UNC. Obviously, the coaches in Indiana and Toronto have discouraged it up to now. But it might help that missing 8 to 12-foot jumper come around once again, if he can sink a few threes. It's mostly a matter of confidence.
Brother Ben is on the Bulls' training camp roster. I am sure they have been talking.
Here is a video from 2011 against the Spurs, showing the jumper:

If anyone tries to contest him while he's taking a 3 he'll just shove them out of the way. Open 3s all day.
EDIT: Just saw this on the main website... thought it was funny.

There was not a Kings player within six feet when Tyler launched that three. His defender all but said "Go for it!"
Yeah, Tyler admits he is not a three-point specialist, but do not be surprised if he sinks a few during the regular season.Last edited by caccia; Mon Oct 6, 2014, 06:45 PM.

If Amir can take (and make) his 3s when he had no/very little history of a jumpshot in his repertoire thru the years surely Tyler H. can show his shot and improve his career possibilities....he was a pretty good shooter in college (career 20.2 ppg) I hear so we mustn't be too surprised. He has just been pigeon-holed as the hustler-toughie player in the pros because of his lack of elite athleticism and size as a big.
