    Keep him off the raps!
    Myself (March 2014):
The raptors are a tremendous young team and will win a championship in the following five years.

    • Ray Allen could probably be had for bi-annual or mini mid level money 1.9 - 2.5 million

Why couldn't we be Boston in this trade? 1st round pick, and good players.... literally for nothing.
        Because Boston had large TPE.

Raps used their cap friendly contract to get bebe and Williams.

Honestly I like raps deal better.

How in all hell did Ray struggle last year? His 3PT% was a little lower than normal at 38%. But he had a 59 TS% and scored 10ppg off the bench. That's higher volume and more efficient bench production than most 2-guards give you.
Shump love your loyalty to Ray Allen and the stat lines.

          But..

Ray is now 39 years old. He ran out of gas during the long run the Heat went on and was like most Heatie's was invisible in the finals against the Spurs. He said he wanted to retire. He may have changed his mind but this is not a signing you take on in a league that values youth as much as length.

Maybe Lebron needs someone around him that he can go out to a restaurant with and not have to worry about making conversation.
There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

Yup it's probably heavily protected. It was likely only added because Boston has to trade SOMETHING for an actual trade to happen. This might mean they didn't use the TPE.
No evidence of them not using the TPE. Remember, you don't "trade" a TPE - you just use it to absorb salary. Sometimes the other side develops a TPE as well, but it is a new one, not one you traded to them. So even if they used the TPE, they'd still have to send out something, such as the protected 2nd rounder.

One thing you need to put around LeBron is shooters, and newsflash, Ray Allen is among the best in the league. Just because the Heat didn't win last year doesn't make him suddenly useless. And just letting you know, Ray put up basically the exact same numbers in the playoffs as he did in the regular season.

In addition. With two potential lockdown defenders in Bron and Wiggins, Ray will almost never have to guard a dangerous scorer.

Odds are Allen would be signed with the room MLE, after the Cavs use their cap room. That's 2 year and 5.6M total (2.8M per year).

If Cleveland offers Wiggins, Bennet, Thompson for Love who says no?
Cleveland could just wait one year, get commitment from Love, and trade those players for future picks.

Raps would definitely take at least 2 of 3.

                    • Cleveland is probably James' best situation. He can sign for 2 years.. even if they don't win he'll get a chance to redeem himself after the decision debacle. The team doesn't have a center but after James is signed they probably have their full MLE to go after a player that can contribute. Gasol for example.

Let's not forget the Cavs are a very stupid franchise. They actually might not have gotten any assurance from James lol. Wouldn't be the first time they gave away assets for nothing (see Deng trade)

I am sure they have at least been given the assurance that its between the Heat and them....and they are showing LBJ that they can do more than the Heat with the assets they have....before his meeting with Riley today.

Again love your loyalty. Jesus Shuttlesworth was one of the finest clutch shooters this league is ever going to see. However time waits for no man and at 39 this season and 40 next the reflexes and stamina just arent there anymore. Signing Ray is in the column of cost of doing business if you can get LBJ and this is one the guys he wants.

                              • Heard some Love to Cavs noise....then it went quiet...beat writers saying its bullshit...but I would be scared of a Irving, Wiggins, James, Love, Healthy Verajao (haha) lineup
