Republicans Watch Golf on TV, Democrats Prefer NBA

You may never have considered the politics of sports, but it turns out there's even an ideological divide in what televised competitions members of each Party watch.

For instance, Republicans like to watch golf while Democrats prefer professional basketball.

Maybe less obvious, dedicated sports watchers are far more likely to vote Republican than Democrat.

Such was reported by the National Journal Wednesday:

“As a captain, I played furiously. I drew a lot of fouls, but I brought everything I had to every practice and to every game. I left everything on the court because I simply wanted the team to win”
Quote from well known personality who led their high school team to a state championship.

This should not be surprising...and I restrict my thinking to the US

    a) Golf is not a cheap game to play
    b) Golf courses have a historical relationship to country clubs
    c) Country clubs have had a tenuous relationship with minority groups
    d) Golf is mostly played by middle class-rich white males
    e) My guess is that more of the above demographic votes Republican
    f) It follows then that more Republicans watch Golf

I would guess that Tennis might be similar.
