DeMar DeRozan had 15 points and a career-high 11 rebounds, Kyle Lowry added 11 points and 10 assists, and the Toronto Raptors opened their defense of the Atlantic Division title with an 109-102 victory over the Atlanta Hawks … Amir Johnson had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Jonas Valanciunas scored 17 points and Terrence Ross had 13 for the Raptors … Kyle Korver, Jeff Teague and Mike Scott each scored 20 points for the Hawks … Back-to-back 3-pointers by Scott and DeMarre Carroll capped a 10-1 run to bring Atlanta within eight, 102-94, with 2:30 left in the fourth, and another 3 by Scott at 1:26 made it 103-99 … Lowry made a pair of free throws, but Patrick Patterson was called for goaltending on Carroll's shot, keeping the margin at four points … DeRozan was fouled and missed both shots, but was fouled again as he grabbed his own rebound on the second ... Given another chance, DeRozan made both to put Toronto up 107-101 with 32 seconds left … After Teague made one of two from the line, Patterson sealed Toronto's win with a fast break dunk.

    Game Notes:

    • The Toronto Raptors travel to Atlanta for the second of four meeting with the Hawks this season. The Raptors defeated Atlanta 109-102 on opening night Oct. 29. The Raptors are 3-1 away from Air Canada Centre and have rallied from double-digit deficits in their last two road contests – Nov. 22 at Cleveland (-18) and Nov. 5 at Boston (- 16). Toronto has never started a season 4-1 on the road.
    • Toronto enters Wednesday’s game tied with Memphis for the best record in the NBA (12-2). It took the Raptors 73 games last year to go 10 games over the .500 mark and went on to reach a franchise-best 15 games over .500 on April 14, 2014.
    • November 26th marks one year since the start of Toronto’s last losing streak (three consecutive losses). The Raptors dropped five straight games Nov. 26-Dec. 6, 2013 and haven’t lost more than two games in a row since, including in the playoffs. Since a seven-player trade with Sacramento on Dec. 9, 2013 the Raptors are 53-24 (.688) – the best record in the Eastern Conference.
    • Toronto has an opportunity to match the best stretch of wins in team history with a victory Wednesday. The Raptors have won 10 of the last 11 games (Nov. 4-24), one win shy of a stretch in 2002 where they won 11-of-12 games (Mar. 22-Apr. 14) in a scramble to qualify for the playoffs.
    • Jonas Valanciunas scored a career-high 27 points Nov. 24 vs. Phoenix. According to Elias it was the second time he has led the team outright in points and rebounds in the same game during his 156-game NBA career. Over the last five games (Nov. 15-24) Valanciunas is averaging 16.0 points, 9.4 rebounds and has posted three doubledoubles. He leads Eastern Conference centres during this stretch with a .748 FG% (31-of-42, min. 20 FGA) and third with a .818 FG% (18-of-22).
    • Kyle Lowry recorded 14 points, eight assists and seven rebounds during the Raptors 104-100 win Nov. 24 vs. Phoenix. It was Lowry’s fifth game this season with at least 10 points, six assists and six rebounds, tying him for second in the NBA with LeBron James and Rajon Rondo. Houston’s James Harden leads the league with seven games. Since the start of last season, Lowry (23) ranks fifth in the NBA behind James (43), Joakim Noah (31), Michael Carter-Williams (25) and Kevin Durant (25).
    • Lou Williams earned Eastern Conference Player of the Week honours for games played Nov. 17-24. Williams scored a career-high 36 points and sparked an 18-point comeback Nov. 22 at Cleveland. He averaged 23.7 points in three games, shooting .526 (10-for-19) from three-point range and a perfect 21-of-21 at the free throw line. Williams was the only player in the NBA last week to average 23.0 points and play less than 25.0 minutes. He was acquired from Atlanta on June 30 along with Lucas Nogueria in exchange for John Salmons.
    • Atlanta made 13 three-pointers against the Raptors on opening night Oct. 29 at Air Canada Centre. It stood as an opponent season-high until Phoenix made 14 three-pointers in the Raptors last game Nov. 24. Between Nov. 13-24 (six games) the Raptors led the East holding opponents to 5.8 three-pointers per game and a .318 3FG% (third in the East). The Raptors held Cleveland to an opponent season-low three 3FG in their last road game Nov. 22.
    • Toronto is 10-0 this season when leading after three quarters. Dating back to the start of last season, the Raptors are now 45-2 when ahead entering the fourth, including a perfect 27-0 at Air Canada Centre. Toronto has won 35 straight games when leading after three quarters. The Raptors have outscored opponents in the fourth quarter in 10-of-14 games this season and lead the NBA with a +49 (363-to-314) scoring differential in the final quarter.

    Keys to the Game:

+ Hot backcourt. Rush the 3-point line.
    + Solid Frontcourt. Box out.
+ ATL is 4th in Assists. Pressure D.

    Key Match-Ups

    vs.

Can Jonas have some carry over and put it to Horford? Stay tuned!

    Lets Go Raptors!!

Atlanta is a tough match-up for us, Kover always seems to play well, Teague is solid and having a good year, and Horford/Milsap give us fits.

The big plus is we are catching them on a second game of a back to back.

Wound up going down to the wire but ends in a 3pt win for the Hawks. Boo confidence. Yay having to play a full 48 minutes.

Confidence is better than them coming out angry after a close loss.
