His minutes are low only because he plays the same position as Gasol. He's very important to their prospects moving forward. If Gasol misses a month, the Griz go .500 with Koufos in the starting lineup. If Gasol misses a month the Griz might lose every game.
Koufos is a very good backup center. He's also their only backup center. Besides, the Griz offense is very good this year.
Waiters offers no upside for the Griz.
