I'd like to see us learn a new end of quarter play ... this whole "Give Lou the ball and move to the baseline" is getting worn out. It worked the few 6 times or so, fine, but since its been a lot less reliable.

More importantly, this team needs to learn how to play without Amir in case he gets injured during the playoffs. Part of the problem might be that Amir is playing for a contract this summer and trying not to miss games.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. If it stops working, then try something new....including benching JV or whoever helped control the game.
Keep being aggressive when you're winning versus reactive to the losing team. Make them stop you before you worry about stopping them.

Key is to get a shot off and Lou has proven he can do that whenever he wants.
The constant ISO's throughout the rest of the Q drive me much more batty.

The only goal I wanted the Raptors to reach this season is a 2nd round playoff birth. As for regular season, as long as they won the Atlantic I would have been happy, but I also wanted to see some growth in JV and TR.
Forward into the New Year and we have a 1st place Raptors team that is 16 games above .500 and 8.5 games in front of the 2nd placed Atlantic team. We have JV and TR getting lots of minutes and performing well (although consistency is still something that needs to be worked on - especially by TR).
So can't really have too many gripes. If I had to say anything I would say the play of GV. Just not a fan of his play at all. Reminds me a lot of how Bargnani played to be honest, just in a different position. Good thing is he's a backup, and will get even less minutes when DD comes back. He has helped us win games, but he's also put us in a position where we have struggled to win, or have almost come away with a loss.
In 13 days he can be traded. I don't know if MU will considering it since he's our only backup PG. But if there is one trade that's made by MU this season then I hope he's involved.

Hard to complain too much at the top of the conference. But just for shits and gigs, it would be nice if the D bounced back into the top 10 - Derozans return may be enough, but I would like to see a cost effective vet brought in to protect the paint (rim protection, sorry Chuck) as our 4th big (no disrespect to steimsma, but...)
The ISO offense isn't sustainable come playoff time, so a little more off ball stuff from the likes of Lowry, GV and Lou would be encouraging moving toward the spring.

Wouldn't be heartbroken to see him in a deal to improve the team either, but I think there is something to be said for what he brings. He compliments Lowry well and is a great presence in the locker room. A lot of teams would like to have him I'm sure.

In the "maybe there hope" department
Vasquez last season though 41 games FG% .388 3PT% .311
Vasquez rest of season FG% .451 3PT% .425
Vasquez this year FG% .386 3PT% ,310
I wouldn't count on it happening again, but it could maybeIf we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.
