I think OP means Nik Stauskas is available in exchange for front court help to the Kings. Not that he would help our front court.

I should probably edit that title tho.

in that case i take my rudeness back and apologize!

regardless, if it were between ross and stauskas, i'd take ross any day. ross is just as good of a shooter as stauskas but waaaaay more athletic and at least *was* known as a potentially great defender. lets just hope it comes back. stauskas was definitely not a good defender even in college and needs a lot of work in that area.

Which Raptor has the best jazz hands? Isn't that what Ranadive is looking for?

But if we are trading a Raptor I hope it's GV. GV + TH for Stauskas and Collison?
the kings may be stupid but they're not that stupid.

Be honest, we only consider him because he's Canadian. I'm not open to downgrading just for a Canadian.

So unless it benefits the Raptors, nahh

I would be willing to bet that he could do the same things as Ross (aside from jump out of the gym) but he will actually care about it... He already drives more frequently. Do I trust Casey to develop him? Nope... But he has got skills

i know hes a rookie so it doesnt really matter at this point, but stauskas definitely does not drive more frequently. he doesn't even average 1 a game.

Don't know how you can already assume this, he only averages just over 3ppg. He's raw, we don't need any more raw players, the raptors are playoff contenders so why would you do a switchoo for absolutely no good reason other than he is a Canadian.

Ross can defend and his size along with athleticism puts him over Stauskas who is solely known as a shooting specialist. I'm not saying Stauskas won't be a better player than Ross, he might, but he just isn't what the Raptors need to focus on right now.

And I doubt he could match Ross' roll on the Raptors as he is now.

                  Don't have to downgrade.

I don't think Sacto would want anything we have to offer in terms of making sense for us....but I don't want to count out just how incredibly stupid Sacto can be. I wouldn't be surprised if we got Stauskas and Williams for Stiemsma and Fields. *Or more accurately I'd be completely shocked and totally unsurprised at the same time.

Cause Ross does right? How do you think he would be at Ross's point in his career... He has definitely shown a solid work ethic based on how he progressed in college. A high ceiling means nothing when the player doesn't push for it... of course every game I hope Ross explodes and proves me wrong.. I was a huge fan when I first started watching him, but body language destroys trying to maintain that interest. It's different when a player gives their all but struggles... When you drag your feet and jog with such disinterest I want to air nail his shorts to the bench.

                    *sorry for the many rant*

i've been as big of a ross critic as the next person on here, but one thing i'm seeing is his body language is just his general demeanour. he doesn't show a lot of emotion on the court. who cares. thats just how he is. he has the same body language as last year and no one was complaining then.

amir johnson says the same thing. when he was injured and had to watch games on the couch, he'd get super excited and nervous WATCHING his team, but he said when he was on the court, it was a completely different feeling and would be super calm in game. that doesn't mean amir johnson doesn't give a shit.

also doc rivers already said he saw ross every single day in the offseason in the clippers local practice gym training and playing. thats hardly a sign of disinterest.

Then I sure hope he proves me wrong before the season done.

If we get 'Staus, it's no different than us getting Kapono, but at least he's not as lazy as Kapono

The Kings are looking for a stretch four. I can see them maybe trying to negotiate something with Miami for Shawn Williams, or maybe with Philly for Robert Covington, maybe try to pry Danilo Galinari or Wilson Chandler from Denver, or even Channing Frye from Orlando. Of course the problem for Miami is that they're trying to make playoffs, and Denver still is (god knows why), and Orlando seems to finally have a gameplan and is hoping they can get the #8 seed - they want to be done rebuilding. Maybe Philly bites, but why would they trade away their young good talent for young, as yet unproven talent?

Maybe we could step in as a facilitator.

                            DENVER GETS: Lou Williams
SACRAMENTO GETS: Wilson Chandler, Greg Stiemsma
TORONTO GETS: Nik Stauskas (absorbed with the Steve Novak trade exception), Derrick Williams

This trade is made with the belief that Lou, while he's been great, is likely not going to return next year and it is time to sell high. Denver gets cap relief for next year as they continue to rebuild. We turn Lou and Steamer into Nik and Derrick Williams - Williams is an expiring who can perhaps provide some frontcourt relief, and Nik gets a chance to try and develop with us as a heat check guy.

Are Raps 5 games under 0.500 and in YOLO trade mode? Are you sure Derrick Williams can fill in the void in our system with the BBall IQ he has??

I don't think the Raps can win a title this year, and I don't think Lou is the difference between making it out of the first round of the playoffs and not making it. To me, that means he's expendable. Derrick Williams might work out and he might not; certainly he's a solid rebounder and not-bad defender, and that's something we need right now.
