    Background:
The Wizards have managed without Beal and won the two games he's already missed following a season-worst five-game skid, flashing some defensive prowess by holding Brooklyn and Orlando to a combined 36.9 percent shooting.
"(We are) getting back to fundamentals defensively," Wall said. "Moving the ball as a team and playing defense, that's when we're at our best. We just got to do a better job of not turning it over, and we'll be back to where we were earlier in the season."
Washington ranks among the top defensive teams in the league with 97.4 points allowed per game and is 17-0 when holding the opposition to 91 or fewer.
This will be our last game before the all-star break, and we don't play again until February 20th.

Beal has been so underwhelming, his stats are virtually the same or worse than last season in lots of categories.

We beat the Wizards twice, we'll beat em again. We got this by 11 points.

Wittman is better than Casey defensively but just as clueless on offence. Wiz kill time off the clock handing the ball on the perimeter then dump it to Wall to create. They have a great set three point shooter in Pierce but can't use him just like 2Pats on the Raptors

Wizard GM is an idiot. Fastest player in the NBA and he picks up slow guys to surround him. Don't know how that groups scores except in transition. That's a team that could use Faried

Yup, Wall is basically a one-man fastbreak. I'm still trying to wrap my head around them winning a playoff round last year....

In our 20 year history, we've finished the season with less than 35 wins, 12 times. And here we are staring down our 35th win before the allstar break. Who would've thunk it?

Raps only play the Wiz three times this year.. so if they win this one, it would be a series sweep. Let's bring out those brooms!

Big trap game between the winning weekend and the all star break. If you looked at the last four games and said we'd go 2-2, about roughly 100% would have picked the 2 wi s to be over the nets and bucks. This team (even without the dating insider information we know of at the republic) really seems to have a higher gear to go to. Unfortunately, they also have a lower gear. The wiz aren't quite the Spurs/Clips but they are no slouch. Should be interesting to see which gear we get before the break

Do you think JJ could guard Wall?

If he can, it makes sense, because without Wall, Wizards offence is non-existant.

In the halfcourt, I think he can.

But give Wall a running start, and nobody can stop him
