Part of the reason why Kyle can't/doesn't run the PnR with Jonas is he is vertically-challenged.

EDIT: Stockton wasn't being defended by 6'6"/6'7" point guards. And he didn't take nearly as many shots as Lowry.
Your argument doesn't really work when you consider how many assists point guards like Chris Paul and Ty Lawson rack up.

Raptors may not be using horns to avoid moving screen calls.

Interesting thought. I recall that the NBA announced that illegal/moving screens were a point of emphasis back sometime in November and early December, and then Amir was called for a crapload of screens that he wouldn't have been called on before. Did we make a mid-season switch in our use of screens around the time this 'point of emphasis' memo came out?

what????? since when does KL have the inability to pass? most PG's are pretty damn short. one of the best passers in the game was only 6'1 (stockton).

if height was the issue, then vasquez should be passing shit all over the place.
Would also mean that 6'9" Magic Johnson was the greatest Point Guard ever ... oh ...

              Hahaha good one Joey

Seriously, though, height is not really a factor. If it was, how was Muggsy Bogues a great passing PG at just 5'3''? In the league right now, Paul and Lawson are neither of them big, and both very good at running the p'n'r.

Lowry's decent, but just not a great passer.

Haha Ya I was going to mention guys like Isiah Thomas and Tiny Archibald who are the same height as Lowry, but Mugsy definitely paints a clearer picture.

Oh, I know. The 'height' excuse for lack of passing skill is probably the lamest one out there. Nevermind that a good percentage of PnR passes are actually bounce passes, where being lower to the ground should give you an advantage. Feeding the roller is all about timing and feel. Lowry just doesn't have it, and probably never will.

Agreed, it's more of an offensive awareness + court vision skill set that great passing point guards have, regardless of height. Lowry has the awareness of a scoring point guard, which is fine because he brings a lot to the table when he's playing well and will still give you 7 assists per game.

The only thing I miss is the ability of the guards to hit the rolling big on the p'n'r - haven't been able to do that consistently since Jose left. In spite of his resume and height, Vasquez doesn't do it very well either. Would be nice to have a backup pg or bench guard who can bring that p'n'r passing to the offense.

There are also size issues with Lowry. While he supposedly grew an inch between his freshman and sophomore seasons and is now listed at a respectable 6’1, he doesn’t appear to be quite that tall. Lowry’s lack of size really hurts him right now, as he isn’t an outside threat and defenders are free to sag off and focus on altering his finishes at the rim. Proving himself as a jump shooter changes everything, but if Lowry measures in under 6’0, his stock could take a bit of a hit.
WOW. did you seriously paste that from his DRAFT REPORT from 9 years ago??? you do realize that outside of this current slump, he IS an outside threat. who the hell do you think has been hitting 3 pointers in the starting lineup outside of ross prior to the lineup change???? you really need to re-evaluate what you think you know.

When you began your rant in all caps, you lost the majority of credibility your argument might have attained via common courtesy. Your usage of intensifiers & hyperbole further undermines any slightly logical points you may have put forward. Three questions marks. Four question marks. Nuggets are just collapsing and going back 10 years in their development.

I don't see Shaw happening. Not sure how you'd sell him to the fan base after his epic flop in Denver. Shaw should go back to being an assistant for a few years and then maybe get another shot at HC.
