  • 1. Fire Casey.

    2. Let Amir and Lou go. Move Ross to backup 2 spot.

    3. Sign a SF.

    4. Sign Hands-bro and Hayes.

    5. Draft a PF.

That's it folks. That's all this team needs. Just a good solid SF. Patterson can start just fine on this team.

Not unless they change the rules so that after a team secures a rebound it is given back to the opposing side.

Given that a lot of us think a coaching change is required and some of us have the wild fantasy - however unlikely - of landing Kevin Durant, why not fire Casey and hire the newly available Scott Brooks? He's the only NBA coach KD has ever known. Just a thought.
Because if you don't land KD, you're stuck with the coach that couldn't win a championship with one of the best rosters the NBA has seen in a long time.

Everything was good until the whole 2Patt starting thing.

Also KD was fine with Brooks getting fired so clearly him coming to Toronto won't bring Durant here. Anyway thank God Masai is the GM cause some of y'all are crazy.

              • 1. Create a system in place to develop talent. Because we obviously can't.
                2. Get talent. Draft/Trade/Extortion/Blackmail whatever you need to do.
                3. Coaching.
                4. Get rid of "We the North" and Drake.
Only one thing matters: We The Champs.

Sweet Jesus but Raps fans are the most bipolar motherfuckers around. Do badly in one series and suddenly it's Chicken Littling all over the place like the team didn't win 49 games this season.
I will reply within the behavioural confines set out by the site administrators......although I'm tempted to be mean-spirited...

Raps played 0.500 ball after the All-Star break. Prior to that, we all knew they were highly over-achieving. Many of us were somewhat nervous about how good they actually were, due to their many bad habits and general ugly play, in spite of winning. We knew the "real" team would emerge as the season came closer to the playoffs.

The last 20 games, short of a couple decent performances (e.g. against Atlanta) were pathetic to watch. Lou isos, GV's crap, Casey getting out-coached, TRoss disapointing..etc. etc. As other teams were ramping up, it showed just how good the Raps were, and that was very, very disappointing.

There was some hope as Demar upped his game, and Lowry came back from injury just prior to the playoffs, but even that was tempered by the realization that the current Raps just aren't that talented, or stalwart, or defensively tough of a team. Heck, our current defense is almost as bad as the Calderon/Bargnani era (remember the NBA doormats....terrible to watch)

2 games in, and we are just getting bullied by the Wizards. Reminds me of those old WWF matches where an unknown gets into the ring with a Big John Stud, and promptly gets thrown around like a rag doll until he's unconscious.

There's nothing bi-polar about lamenting what was clearly inevitable, and what unfolded over a long and disappointing season.

49 wins? Who cares. We all know, it's better to end well......

                    That having been said:

                    1. We need a new coach who can coach team-style best-shot basketball as opposed to the heroball Casey's been letting the team get away with.

                    2. We need a starting PF who can rebound and bang with the best of them.

                    3. We need a true small forward who can shoot threes.

                    4. A backup PG who can run the offense.

But the coaching is the most important thing.
Some posters have been saying alot of those things you listed for at least a whole season now. Consistently and repeatedly saying those things to the point of irritation of other posters, including predicting a lack of playoff success when the Raps were playing close to .700 ball, only one month into the season. Wouldn't that be the polar opposite of 'bipolar'.

"Remember those great years with Chris Bosh when the Raps had 40 something wins and got smashed in the first round?" said no Raptors fan ever.

The plot is oh so familiar.

                      • The only two things I take away from the 49 wins are:

                        1. There is some talent on this roster, even though it's hard to see right now (That's where "Raptors fans are bipolar" is legitimate.)
                        2. The East was really, really shitty this year. This team isn't that good.

Yeah, except we have 2 ASG caliber guys (well, Bragnani could've been considered a ASG caliber guy at this time). This shouldn't happen.

                            • i think at this point the coach will be changed and hayes, hans, steims, and landry fields are gone for sure.

also, amir and lou are free agents that should not be offered contracts they want as far as $ or years... that means that the coaching staff and almost half the roster will be turned over this summer...

we need to trade for or sign a player that is at least as good or better than demar/lowry and it really has to be a big... we will be taking a step back before we move forward imo...

                              demarcus cousins anyone?
