  • Time to try something new to beat Washington

At no time should Lowry, GV and Sweet Lou be on the court at the same time. You are essentially telling the Wizards that there will be no one to stop dribble penetration so you can start the lay-up line to the basket. Unfortunately, one of the biggest weaknesses in the Raptors roster is being exposed - they do not have anyone who can consistently stop dribble penetration. Players who are best suited to this role are Lowry (circa 2012), James Johnson, Landry Fields, and T Ross (yes, that is how thin the Raptors are with individual defensive stoppers). If, Lowry is injured for game three I think it is time for the Raptors to get creative and have a starting line-up of Demar, TRoss, James Johnson, 2Pat and JV. You can have TRoss guard Wall, Demar on Beal, JJ on Pierce, 2Pat on Nene and JV on Gortat. the 2Pat/Nene matchup is a concern if Nene decides to post-up on a regular basis, and the Raps may need to counter with Psycho T. GV should only be on the court when Sessions is playing. Sweet Lou can play when either Wall or Beal is on the bench. Landry can be used as the last wing off the bench to provide some defence.

If Lowry does play then TRoss is sent to the bench, and the starting line up become Lowry, DD, JJ, PP, and JV. Again Sweet Lou and GV will have limited minutes.

Dwayne Casey doesn't try new things.
The only adjustments he'll make will be pounding the rock even harder.
You come at the King, you best not miss.

I think we need that guy we had at the start of the season to show up, his name was #NBABallot something. This John Doe guy playing as our starting point guard really sucks.

the "thing" he should "try" is play JJ more and have him go right at pierce on offense so he picks up fouls. JJ hasn't done much defensively but when he was in at least the offense hummed a little.

There is nothing new we can do. Our team is not a elite team, if you have not noticed we lose to teams that don't even have any superstars on them eg. Boston, NY and barely beat a OKC team without Durant or westbrook. Our only solution is to get a true superstar on our team which we will not get either. so in all either we tank like the leafs and hope to get a top 3 pick next year cause all we will be is a sub par team in a weak conference and division. But then again we are owned by MLSE so good luck with any of that cause all they care is how to make money lol

He can take that rock with him next Monday on his way out the door.

Start 2Pats and pull Nene or Gortat out of the paint. Pretty much what every team has done to beat them all year. Also, run plays for 2Pats while you're at it

Suggesting we try something new implies we have a coach willing and able to adjust schemes to fit his team's strengths....

Simple but effective. I remember 2Pat going off in Washington last year, he plays well with JV too. Amir needs to have his minutes very limited, I'm talking like short 3 min spurts and swap him back out for 2Pat. Amir is just too slow out there now, and he never fucking boxes out.

Amir has been beat on so many 50/50 balls its excruciating. He went from the one of the top 5 intangibles players in the world to a huge liability in one year. Sucks.

I feel bad cause I love the dude to death. But he has the worst set of wheels ever, he's just not the same. I wish we could turn back the clock and bring back the young gunz version of Air Amir, who used to have like 3 put back dunks a game and run the floor like a Gazelle.

We absolutely should be making adjustments. But not to the starters - we've killed them with the starters both games. It's the bench that's a disaster. Less GV, less Amir, more PP, more JJ.

Bench scored more than the starters last game, if I recall correctly

JJ on Pierce is not a game-changing factor in this series.

Guarding Wall and Beal with GV and Lou for 30 mpg is.

Play Ross and JJ on them if we are going to talk about perimeter defense....
