From Zach Lowe's free agency winners and losers (he rated us "TBD"):
Also another part with a small Raptors connection:

    Winner: 2016 Free Agents

Psst. Have you looked at next season’s free-agency class? Kevin Durant is the headliner, but it’s thin at the top after him. Among this season’s starry free agents, only Wade opted for a one-year deal that would plop him back into free agency for Year 1 of the cap extravaganza.3 Lillard and Anthony Davis, the two game-changers among next year’s potential restricted free agents, locked in deals a year early.

There are still some big names, including Al Horford, Mike Conley, Joakim Noah, and perhaps Dwight Howard,4 but next summer’s class lost star power when Kevin Love, Aldridge, and others chose security over higher-risk, higher-reward short-term deals. There will be more star-level salary slots next summer under the $90 million cap than star free agents.

That is very good news for Jeff Green, Luol Deng, Eric Gordon, Nic Batum, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, DeMar DeRozan, Chandler Parsons, and other third-banana types. These guys are going to get paid. DeRozan and Parsons hold player options for 2016-17, and the best intel is that both will opt out to secure longer-term deals based on the higher cap.

      • Suns have a lot of draft picks.. and Denver is tanking. So why not do a three way where Keef comes to Toronto, Denver gets Ross + picks and Phoenix gets Faried?

        Who loses there?

Suns if Faried is still on Denver after the trade and they lose Kief

          • Ross and JJ for Morris sounds pretty fair to me. Raptors get a starting PF, they get two rotation wings and a little extra cap space (?). Clears room for the better of Daniels and Powell to make the team, or for the likes of Dorrell Wright or Hansbrough to sign for the min.

            • If the Rptors trade Ross they lose the only shooter on the bench for a PF who Casey will ignore. Casey doesn't go inside

Definitely agree with this. We're too thin at the 2 (real 2's, not CJ or DW who happen to have the size but not the game for it) to trade Ross away. Would love to see a season of him coming off the bench at his natural position.

We still need a PF, but we should try and keep Ross.

I wouldn't mine Boozer even at his age his still a very good defensive rebounder. Which is one of our needs. He still a pick n pop threat.
we also have enough second unit defenders to cover up for his flaws

Except Morris can operate on the perimeter. Casey likes guys that can fill it up.

casey doesnt setup shooters. novak, 2Pats, ross. the best pf under casey is amir domeone that doesnt need plays

I like Ross more than most, and want to see what he can bring off the bench, but he's expendable. DeMar is going to eat up most of the minutes at that spot. Then, Carroll can guard 2s, allowing for some monster defensive lines. Finally, Delon will be seeing minutes at the 2, we could bring Powell in, and we can still sign a vet.

What are you talking about? I'm pretty sure 2Pat made more three the last two seasons than anywhere else
