  • I don't really get what this is even about, 90% of the board hates Ross.

We're just saying at this point PP is the weakest link in the starting lineup. Is that wrong or something?

You never trade the Knicks pick. Under any circumstances unless you're bringing back a true franchise guy. We have way too many other picks that could be traded. That's how good that pick projects to be (based on the current projection of the NBA, The Knicks AND The Nuggets are 2 of the 3 worst teams).

Some of the fanbase wanted to tank; the other didn't. That pick is the marriage of both worlds.
The amazing thing is that we got this pick from trading Bargnani.....

Chandler looked like shit in NY because the perimeter D was terrible. Judging 2Pats based on the defense last year seems wrong. He isn't the best rebounder in the world but having Lou and Ross as the 2-3 and playing as the C next to TH isn't the best way to evaluate a player.

If I recall correctly, this issue with KJ wasn't with him but with his mom.
It's why he slipped in the draft

His mom is bat-shit crazy and will torpedo his career. Shame

Ross was playing out of position.

And Patterson showed up in the playoffs?
Umm yea. He was the next best player after Demar. He didn't take over a game or anything but just played his game and upped his percentages. Literally no one else did anything. JV and Amir were alright for what they are. And I'm not saying Demar played great either, but he at least scored the ball and upped his 3 point percentage.

            • Max offer sheet to Enes Kanter ($17M per) from the Trailblazers. OKC will likely match, but OKC was negotiating around the $15M mark and was trying to dump Novak and PJ3 for $0 to save over $11M in tax payments.

Kanter is a no defence big who struggled to consistently produce until he landed on the Thunder. Overpay by Blazers but after their offseason they are likely just trying to fuck with OKC

              • Mavs finally will get their superstar. I thought they were going to tank.

There will be a lot of fallout from this and rightfully so because this would be a really unpleasant precedent to set.
DeAndre Jordan didn't invent backing out of a verbal agreement.

                  • By the way, the Celtics have Mavs and Nets picks next year. Mavs is top 7 protected. If the Mavs aren't tanking and the Nets are trying to drop salary and get worse, the Celtics will probably get two nice lottery picks from them next year.

They've done great job collecting assets.

should have traded Lou earlier at the trade deadline and moved expiring to tax teams like OKC, Bulls, etc
                      This was not actually possible.

Most people have erased him from their memories.

                                Dear Mavs fans,

After all the nonsense coming from an ESPN employee on Twitter, I thought I would provide the events of the day on Tuesday.

Through all of Monday we were texting back and forth discussing players available, the amount of cap room we had left. Who our staff liked. Who he liked. How excited he was.

Then on Tuesday the communications basically stopped and we started hearing rumblings from multiple people that something was up.

So I flew down to Houston and got a room at The Galleria, which is just a few minutes from his house. I had my driver take me to his house. It's inside a small gated community but the game was wide open So we drove in and I literally walked up to his door.

There was no one home. So I texted him saying that I was there. I know something is up. Let's talk. He texted me that he was on a date.

I told him to have fun. I wasn't in a rush, that I was happy to come by there and say hi or if he wanted to make the date fun, take them to Dallas for a night out.

                                He didn't respond.

After about 10 minutes I went back to the hotel. I wasn't going to sit in front of his house. I didn't think that was right.

When I got back to the hotel I texted him that I wasn't in front of his house. Have fun on his date and we will talk.

He hit me back immediately saying thanks.

He knew I was in town. He knew I was close by. I knew something was up. I was getting the same reports everyone else was.

I also knew his agents were coming to town. It made sense that he would talk to them and worst case, even if he was having second thoughts the agent would be able to give me updates.

Like any big career move it's natural to have second thoughts. So while I was concerned, I still wasn't worried. So I went to bed.

                                More to come.
