PPat can kinda be that guy. hes got an orpm of 2.17, which is like 5th among PFs.

Not sure I agree. I'm referring to a low-post offensive threat forcing defenses to double. Aldridge, Monroe, West, etc.

we have to sacrifice somewhere else if we go that route though (defense with monroe, bench with aldridge (worth it), etc.).

our offense was successful (yet ugly) last year without a post presence like that.

in my opinion, you just gotta take what JV gives you on that front.

you can essentially only use the mle if you stay above the cap (which we didn't), so we don't get it this year

I think we should try and sign Bass then (5-6 million dollar range if possible) and then add some vet pieces. I'd resign Hansborough as well.

Can anyone explain how the MLE works?

Is the 9 million we have exclusive of that?

have to give up the MLE if Raptors want the full 9M unless you are talking about Maximum Likelyhood Estimation which would be off-topic and should be in another forum

True. I'm just weary of Casey's (lack of) offensive abilities, especially come playoff time. Ugly wing-heavy offense isn't going to cut it. Life would be a lot easier if we had that guy down low to create something out of nothing in short clock situations.

Hawks won 60 and realized they need a C to rebound and protect the interior. our dumbass limps into 49 wins playing sub .500 fora big chunk of the season and gets thoroughly swept in the playoffs and proclaims the C position dead

I have read about his really good character traits. And then the piece below on his all around skills and value. The only downside I see is he is a rfa and at this crucial time one is locked in for 3 days while Orlando decides.

I know he doesn't quite fit the profile, but T. Jones might be available even if Rockets don't sign Aldridge. Maybe a first rounder might be enough to get him. To me, that's an upgrade. T. Jones and PPat > Amir and PPat.

Would be happy with any of those. I like the Spurs guys too but can't see them leaving since Tiago got shipped out.
