I don't think Simmons got popular nationwide until the podcast came out. That's probably what they meant.
lol I'm just biased because I hate listening to podcasts - they take too long. Give me a blog/column where I can scan it or read it at whatever speed I want and I'm happy.

You obviously don't work an office job where podcasts are a necessity to pass time for your soul crushing job.

Take to long ? I listen to it while at work , driving home work and exercising ... Podcasting is the best way to get informed while still doing your daily activities . Heck if I had to read up on every content I heard on a podcast I would be sitting on my computer or tablet all day ..

Ha, this is the kind of job I have. All those other situations I need music.

The only podcast I've really gotten into is Jalen & Jacoby, but I'll actually watch those on YouTube every now and then.

Seriously, you like(d) First Take? I can't even bring myself to mention their names, but those two are the biggest Delta Bravo's in the media biz.

I listened to The Herd for 4 years+, he grew on me when he started giving Romo and the Boys some respect. I'm kinda disappointed that he doesn't have that show anymore, but at the same time, I can't listen like I used to.

Russillo is good(is there no more SVP?), but that show overlaps with Jim Rome. I hated the Rome show when I first started listening, but as he says, give him 3 weeks and you will love the show. Rome is awesome and I miss listening to that show... I gotta start streaming at my desk.. to hell what the "man" says about no more streaming!

Bill Simmons is back … with a new podcast - Just in time for NBA season ..

Bill Simmons is coming back to podcasting. The creator of ESPN’s Grantland announced on Twitter Monday that he’ll be returning to the airwaves this fall — Oct. 1, to be exact. Needless to say, that first episode should be a doozy. Simmons has never shied away from voicing his opinions, but his breakup with Disney-owned ESPN came in rather spectacular fashion.

                        https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...a-new-podcast/
Bill Simmons podcast all set up and raring to go Oct 1st ... Called " the Bill Simmons Podcast " ... Sadly it seems he is only putting out 3 podcast a week and one is Monday to discuss Weekend NFL Gams ( With House ) ... Friday's to discuss NFL lines ( with Cousin Sal ) and third is on entertainment ..

Cannot click it, dude. Those two are trolls to the umpth degree!

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Thunder star Kevin Durant said Friday that a comment from ESPN's Stephen A. Smith indicating the star forward would consider Los Angeles his "primary objective" if he didn't re-sign in Oklahoma City next summer isn't true.

"I don't talk to Stephen A. Smith at all," Durant told reporters. "Nobody in my family, my friends -- they don't talk to Stephen A Smith. So he's lying."

On First Take on Tuesday, Smith said, "Regardless of how senseless it may [sound], in one breath I'm hearing that if Kevin Durant doesn't stay in Oklahoma City, L.A. is his primary objective and landing spot as opposed to South Beach or even his home of Washington, D.C."

Durant, an unrestricted free agent next summer, had previously warned reporters at USA Basketball minicamp in August not to put stock in anonymous reporting, and he reiterated that on Friday.

"If you ask me a question, I'll talk about them," Durant said. "But like I said before, I have people who I talk to about everything, and I know for a fact they didn't talk to him, so he's making up stories."

Smith responded to Durant via Twitter after the former MVP's comments.

"At NO time did I ever say I SPOKE to K.D. Or his family. Or his brother, friends, teammates, etc. (although I can assure you all I have on several occasions in the past)," Smith wrote. "I said I HEARD from folks I know -- in a league I've been covering for 19 years -- that if he were to leave OKC as a free agent, these are the cities I was told he was considering. OKC. LA. Miami. DC. NY. I stand by it all. And that is that. His assertion that I was lying is not only FALSE, but totally uncalled for. Especially from a player who receives nothing but praise not only from me, but from practically every media member you can find.

"Yet, for some reason, we're all the same folks who don't know *&%$ about the game of basketball. Whose thoughts he could give a &^%$ about. Essentially, individuals he wishes he'd never have to talk to.....that he's being forced to tolerate.....as if someone has done something to him.....OF ALL PEOPLE!

"Don't know what has happened to Mr. Durant over the years. But I know this much: We all win with his return, because he is an absolute superstar. The NBA is better with him. We're all at a loss without him.

"It just appears that @KDTrey5 needs to learn something about today's world in professional sports: We don't have to talk TO HIM to talk ABOUT HIM! Folks like ME will still be here. Watching! Listening! Waiting! Reporting! Whether he likes it or not. While he's here and long after he's gone. Time to get use to it."

Stephen A. Smith should have a large "Mute" button on his forehead - people would be slapping it all day long. He's the archetype for everything that's wrong with American sports personalities. Volume does not equal content.

Stephen A Smith is the fucking worst. So he didn't talk to Durant or anyone that knows Durant, but he's sure enough to report that Durant is considering these 4 cities if he leaves OKC? What a fucking buffoon. Can't wait until Durant is a Raptor and Stephen tries to retroactively add us to his list of destinations.
