If the Tank is where MU wants to go by trading KL and DD, Raptor fans should be happy if they get their hands on the 4th and 5th pick.

I don't see 4th pick being attainable by us given what we have to give, but 5th is.

Again, this is the summer of MU. Lets hope and Pray he does not off load DD and KL for picks between 10-20.

no thank you on the return of the spaniard I can't handle watching calderon and vasquez play matador all game long. Tank or no tank we need at least one rough around the edges american point guard.
Why does it matter if we tank? That makes no sense, or is really oddly prejudice (the wrong kind of 'sense'). If we're going to be bad, it don't matter if our PG is a spaniard who can't play D, an American who only plays D, or an alien worm with no arms who has to shoot by spitting the ball.

Only piece I see NYK being interested in is DeRozan. Still cheap (for now) and a star. DeRozan for Jose and the 4th.

Then Lowry and Ross to SAC for #6, Stauskas, and Thompsen's salary.

Boom. 4, 6 and 20. Take Mudiay, Hezonja and Wood. Mudiay, Hezonja, Caboclo, Wood, Nogueira. Fun times await.

Pie in the sky, but that's what this time of year is for.

Question: what team **with allstar calibre players** would be looking to move up in draft I.e. Take step back in standings?

Orlando, Sacramento, Charlotte, Detroit, Miami, Indy, Utah, PHX, OKC all looking to improve.

Does Portland throw in towel if Aldridge leaves? Even if he does, they aren't trading lillard.

            Denver is a wildcard.

Boston is looking to add star players like NY.

            NO looking to improve.

Trade market is looking pretty barren for stars.....or I just can't see it. Anyone?

It was actually mostly a joke...but in principle I'd gladly trade Lowry (if his time is up here anyway) for #4 plus Jose (if you have to take Jose off their hands to make a deal work).

I am trying here... Not much luck.

Indiana trade Hibbert? But if he can't handle it mentally in Indy he will be toast in NY.

The Knicks are so bad, they might not be just looking for an All Star for the #4 pick. They could be looking for starters, other trade assets, solid bench players. If a good enough package is put together that combines upside and immediate contributions why wouldn't they consider it?

I really don't think the Knicks are looking to develop any players right now, not with 120million tied up in an ageing and deteriorating carmelo anthony. They need pieces around him, and they will be desperate to get them. Fortunately, Masai is pretty good at bending the Knicks over his knee soooo, ya never know!

Don't start with me Pal. The difference between us is that you always live in a dream land and this is why you are always disappointed ...

All I am saying is that people need to be realistic and keep their expectation in check. DD and KL had bad play offs and there are other teams in the league that have better talents and are willing to move up. It is not like we have Beal as our shooting guard or it is not like DD has demolished Washington in the series.

Now if MU manages to land #4 then fantastic !!! all hail to the best GM in the league. But more realistic picks are 5-10 given the players that will be left on the board, teams that have those picks and what we have to offer.

When thinking about trades and ... It is always good to NOT assume the other teams in run by morons who are incompetent and have no vision. Always ask yourself, will you make that trade if you were the other team !!!

I simply don't think there will be such a HOT market for DD and KL this summer.

But you are looking in a vacuum, no? Exactly what you accused a poster of doing.

Say what you want about value of KL and DD but they are recent AS and they play for an awful in game coach. Every opponent announce team from January on directly or indirectly highlighted this.

Where are the available players worthy of a #4 pick?

What teams are willing to throw in the towel on current core with all-star calibre players?

It is a unique time in nba with only a handful of teams intentionally looking to be bad (Minny, philly). Lots of other bottom dwellers have been there for a while or are looking to get ahead after recent step back.
