I like the idea of a former player as an AC. It sort of gets the players to respect what they are saying. As for Stack, I'd be okay with him. He's enforcing what the HC is saying and that is what you want getting through to the players, not what the AC's own agenda.

It's not like Stack's advice would be to shoot it every time. Just like Bowen wouldn't be telling them to undercut people. Stack played another 10 seasons after he stopped scoring 20+ ppg. In his prime he was scorer but I think he probably picked up a few additional things after 18 seasons in the league. He may be terrible on TV but I don't know exactly how that would effect his ability as an assistant coach. There are better options out there but it's not a farce.

I mean, Magloire being on the bench is closer to a farce in my opinion.

That's just my point. He's not there to tell the players to be selfish or to be chuckers. He's a respected player just like Billups would be. As Mess said there are better options, but it's not like they are all available or interested in bein an AC.

Wouldn't be mad at all if Stack joined the team.

Now that we know the new AC is not going to be a head coach in waiting, I guess I don't really care. The new AC will be an AC in waiting to be fired along with Casey. Might as well be Stack.

Battier as a AC..... fuck yes. I love the idea of a guy like him here. Maybe even taking over as HC if Casey gets canned mid-year?
If I had to peg one of my favorite choices of ex player it'd probably be him

Too bad Battier signed a multi year deal as a college sportscaster and seems to have no interest in coaching. Let alone assistant coaching.

Didn't know he signed a sportscaster contract. I dunno, if he had any interest I'm sure he would be willing to leave. I'm just saying that's the guy I would want, much more than a guy like Stack or Bowen.

He on the record saying he doesn't want to coach?

He had a lucrative deal agreed upon before even retiring. I would also love to have him but the odds of him leaving his current job to be an assistant coach is pretty much zero.

And my mistake, he's an analyst, not a sportscaster.

Not to mention his *alleged* future in politics.

I don't understand why we would be aiming at a defensive coordinator if Casey is supposed to be the specialist.
Is Nick Nurses iso enough for us?

                    Super confused *

                    • Stackhouse would be a good pick up. Played under Casey I believe. Knows how successful his defensive system when played right. Could really help with out wing development(Ross, Bruno, Daniels, possible 2016 draft pick).

Our wings already know how to not pass the ball and look for their own shot. Stackhouse's job is done before he gets here.

                        • Interesting Masai is going after Casey's guy. Seems like Masai is going to give Casey whatever he needs to make his system work. So, if we have the same out come his out the door. Looking forward to another record breaking season!

                          • I'm sure Stackhouse would bring something of value, but he's the most hilariously inappropriate selection for this particular team.

                            • If we actually hire Stackhouse because he's "Casey's guy", then this team truly is totally fucked.

We'll be the first team to lose a seven-game series in three games!
