nobody thinks he is the next Hakeem. You are creating a straw man argument.

Even the most bullish of us think with a lot more touches and minutes he could average 18 and 12 and be a solid rim protector in another few years.

            i doubt he averages 18/12

            my guess is 15/9

he isnt even a top 14 player in the re draft ESPN did for 2011

              http://espn.go.com/nba/insider/story...t-kyrie-irving

              ESPN 2011 Redraft

              1. Kyrie Irving
              2. Klay Thompson
              3. Kawhi Leonard
              4. Jimmy Butler
              5. Chandler Parsons
              6. Nikola Vucevic
              7. Kemba Walker
              8. Brandon Knight
              9. Tobias Harris
              10. Tristan Thompson
              11. Enes Kanter
              12. Alec Burks
              13. Nikola Mirotic
              14. Reggie Jackson

However i would put him anywhere between 8-11

                        1. If JV plays his way into a max deal, yes.
                        2. As an RFA, we can let the market dictate his value. We are in firm control of his next four-five years, unlike DeMar.
                        3. It's unlikely JV gets the 2016 post-rookie max if Casey is still the coach.
                        4. If he does earn it, and if forced to choose, I'm far more comfortable with giving $20mm a year to an efficient double-double machine than a long-2 iso guard. Low-efficiency volume scoring is the easiest commodity to replace in the NBA.
                        Max Center?
                        20m???
                        efficient double double machine?

For a player who never averaged a double double ^^^^^^^^^^

and btw guys ignore hakeem obv JV will never be him

but in no way do i think JV deserve more then 12-14m

TBH i do too but i dont think he will ever be a top 5 center

he wouuld be anywhere between 6-10 in his prime

                            averaging about 14-17p, 9-12r, 1-2b

                              This thread is painful.

JV as an efficient scoring centre who could average a double double in the next 2 years, is going to be worth a lot of money on the open market.

So how is he overrated exactly? Because some ESPN draft redo (cause ESPN never overlooks the Raptors or their players) and some moronic posters personal list.

If you actually pay attention to what people post, you'd see that most of the excitement for JV is the player many feel he will develop into. He's already a good post scorer despite a minimal role in the offence and a solid rebounder.

                              Stop trolling.
